wat is that? Combined games? Cuz i dont think Collections count as Remakes? Srry i dont kno? Opinions on it.

If HD Collections aren't remakes; then Wind Waker HD isn't a remake either.

...What?

OT: Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS did really well compared to it's predecessor. However, you could mark that up to be a failure on VGC's part since tracking might be off on the original.

Edit: Yup, the tracking for America is absent.

OOT 3d and Starfox 3d would sell so much more if they would stock the damn games
you cannot find them anywhere

Wattt? WW is a remake. Its not an HD collection, its a remake in HD

No, it's a remaster.  As in, they took the code from the original game and spruced it up to make it HD:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_The_Wind_Waker_HD

"In a Nintendo Direct presentation released on January 23, 2013, a high-definition remaster of The Wind Waker was announced for the Wii U, then slated for release in the fall of 2013.

The Wind Waker HD expands on the original with updated 1080p-resolution graphics,[9] an alternative lighting engine, as well as new gameplay features and modifications."

Just like the games in HD Collections are taking the code from the original game(s) and sprucing it up to make it HD:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ico_%26_Shadow_of_the_Colossus_Collection

"The core game and story for both Ico (2001) and Shadow of the Colossus (2005) remains unchanged with the remastered versions. For the remastering, both games have had a graphics overhaul to allow them to support modern high-definition displays up to 1080p. With the more powerful PlayStation 3, both games feature a fixed frame rate of 30 frames per second; the original PlayStation 2 version of Shadow was noted for pushing the limits of the older console and often suffered from framerate losses.[6] Both games support stereoscopic 3D, taking advantage of the original design of the games with considerations towards depth-of-field viewing as evidenced by the large landscapes. Both games in the collection support 7.1 surround sound."

Although Wind Waker HD added more, it's still merely a remaster.  Not a remake.  A true remake is something like Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_FireRed_and_LeafGreen

"FireRed and LeafGreen were first announced in September 2003 as upcoming remakes of the original Pocket Monsters Redand Green games that were released in Japan in 1996.[15] Game director Junichi Masuda stated the new titles would be developed around the idea of simplicity,[16] as the game engine was a slightly modified version of the one used in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire."

i.e. games built from the ground up on a brand new engine, but based on an earlier game.

Exactly what it says on the tin, Pie!

I'm sorry I couldn't deal with how crazy that statement was! You are saying a collection should count if an HD re-make/re-master does? WW:HD could be argued as a quite complete re-make considering how they changed aspects of the game.

Great find, but isnt that debatable. There were many changes as to just a remaster like FFX! It add exclusive modes, new mechanics/etc!!

Its more than a remaster, ask anyone who played it!!!

They changed a great deal in the FFX/X2 collection they released - new soundtrack; new battle UI and even added some new content in.  Evidently, Square-Enix still considered it to be a Remaster because of the way the game was developed (i.e. porting the original source code rather than building-from-the-ground-up).

If we're including remasters, then great.  There's a whole sea of them contained in HD Collections.

If we're only counting remakes, then that's great too.  But there's a lot of remasters in the OP (Persona 4 would be another).

Some remasters though are remakes, i would add in FFX HD, but how do i compare it? There's 2 games! Help me out!

And from play through, WW HD is a remake, Wayyyy more so than LoZ OoT 3D

I feel as though maybe I didn't completely convey my point with the italics. The thing is, these are Collections; two or more games in one. This is why they don't count and WW:HD does, because WW:HD is one game.

However, I don't really know if these points match up with Tbone's. If they don't, then I have no clue what he's on about.

Didn't Persona 3 Portable sell very well?
