What's your favourite?

Playstation 343 52.61%

Nintendo 64 307 47.09%

Total:650

I actually still enjoy playing N64 games from time to time, but it's hands down Playstation for me. The shear quantity of quality games was astounding compared to what was offered on the N64.

Nintendo 64, 2 reasons...
1.. I grew up with it.
2. Super Mario 64.

Playstation and it's not even close. Arguably has the best library of all time.

N64? There were only a handful of titles worth picking up.

Remind me of the part where i argued otherwise? A poll that is this close, while sales were almost 3:1, is evidence enough of how many nintendo fans this website has.

This is a site for gamers. A number of quality N64 games have stood up to the test of time very well and looking back some playstation fans who are real gamers will revise their opinions beyond their past teenage triblisum.

I'd certainly like to be able to play a number of classic playstation games I missed out on back in the day.

See bolded. Gamers are gamers. Be it M$, Sega, Ninty or Sony consoles. If you play games you are a gamer. I could easily swap your argumet around and say people who own n64 who are real gamers will know that the games on PS1 have stud the test of time.

Its a silly argument and also an opinion. For example I think Spyro and Crash on the PS1 are better than Mario 64. It does not make it fact though.

What is a fact is that the PS1 outsold the N64 3:1 and on this site whe you ask what console is better its a close battle. It would be prudent to assume that this site must have a high concetration of nintendo fans.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

PS hands down a better system. It sold 3 times as many systems as the N64 and the PS was the first console system to sell over 100 million. Only the PS2, DS and Wii have sold over 100 million systems. The game library of the PS was a lot bigger than the N64. The N64 had half a dozen great games including: Legend of Zelda: OoT, Super Mario 64, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing.

Higher concentration, proportionately, than the gaming market of the mid to late 1990s, sure, but there are still more Sony fans on VGChartz than Nintendo fans, otherwise N64 would be winning.

Preferring N64 over PS1 is like claiming Nintendo is better than all companies (Square, Konami and Capcom included) combined.

They are. ;)

It's tough. I was a PS kid, loved Twisted Metal 2, Crash, Spyro etc. I feel N64 is the console people still love to go back and play, with games like double dash, super smash and so on. I still had to vote PS though.

How could I forget Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Spyro and Tomb Raider ?

PS1 had such a vast library that it's not hard to forget real masterpieces in lists.  N64 doesn't have this issue.

Nowadays they are.  Back in the 1990s... No.
