ur confusing shipped and sold. Nintendo reports how many they ship to retailers, vgcharts tracks how many are sold to consumers by retailers.

I knew something was wrong. I was right but i said as of feb 31.
I know it is 5.86m shipped but those 0.3m must have been sold by now. So it should be 6.3 or 6.4m rather than 6.04m.

no vgchartz number should be pretty accurate. nintendo shipped 5.86 by dec 31 but according to this site the sellthrough was 5.5 million which sounds about right.

5.86 is shipped to retail. VGC is sold to customers. We have weekly data for Japan and monthly data for US. We also know based on Nintendos release that it is doing worse in EU out of the three regions... Where do you think it's undertracked? Basically, I'll take your bet
No, they aren't undertracked. At least not for the reasons you're suggesting. Vgchartz is best thought of as an estimated, and not a firm number. It's pretty common for them to be a couple hundred thousand units above or below the actual number. But when official numbers are announced, vgchartz corrects the errors.
