True enough, albeit for not entirely positive reasons.

Just as i would a remake of FF7.

I remember when they announced that FF 4 remake.  I was so pissed off.  I wanted a game that looked like this (A PS3 remake would have been close):

Instead we got this:

SE don't hate money. They just don't know how to use it. Maybe some day they'll figure it out.

Maybe the day they announce a Final Fantasy IX remake!

A 3DS remake seems the most practical way to go, given the success of 3&4 and how happy SE was with Bravely Default. Wouldn't mind one using the BD engine. Not to hate on sprites but given the advances in the genre it's hard to get into the old SNES RPGs. I've tried twice with 6 on the GBA and Wii but it's a bit slow for me. It's a shame because I've always wanted to play through the story, and the score is terrific.

But yeah if SE is going to remake anything I'd prefer it be IX. I'd settle for a 3DS port with a few minor tweaks.

There aren't enough gamers to buy the game to justify such an expensive remake.. Sure some sold millions but those are exceptions and not the standard.. Jrpgs are niche

FFIX is probably the one title that needs a remake the least. Thanks to its art style it holds up incredibly well today. What would really need it is FFVIII.

JRPGs as a whole are niche. Final Fantasy isn't.

Because the internet would hate it for being different. It's really a no-win. Many "fans", even those asking for it, would rage over the final product, no matter what they did. That's the rather awful state of Final Fantasy fandom. It's a game series where many of those who buy the games don't even like the genre, as ridiculous as that sounds.

FF7 especially, where it would probably go from "OMG I want a FF7 remake" to "OMG WHAT DID YOU DO TO FF7!!!1!" FF7 was kind of the turning point, where it became the CoD of RPGs and brought in a ton of non-RPG fans because Cloud had a giant sword, the cut-scenes, and the sexual tension between he and Sephiroth.
