Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One launching September 4 in Japan

I don't think any amount of Japanese games or even exclusives will make the X1 work in Japan. Maybe an exclusive FXV or Monster Hunter would help a bit but not even those would make it a success longterm.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

There's some developers in that list that aren't Japanese.. And 'registered to develop for' and 'developing for' are two different things.

They'll be making Japanese loacalisations, also important to any potential success the Xbox One has in Japan.

That makes a lot of sense. Not what the OP says though. Weirds.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Can't see it being a success in Japan.

On the other hand, if MS give it a good go by developing some good Japanese games that also come over west that would definitely increase my interest in X1

I'm still not counting it out completely, but the lack of compelling Japanese games there looks pretty bad. I suppose there's time for more to be announced.

If you compare it with PS4 that at this point only have ports from Japanese ps3 games in Japan I applaud MS for atleast having DR3 and Crimson Dragon (or is that one also X360?)..

And they still have time to come up with more. Hence why I'm not counting them out.

Someone want to help guess the games??

Dont even bother with some of the smaller guys O_O They make such random and unpredictable stuff sometimes.

Grounding Inc made Crimson Dragon

Also theres another list on the actual Famitsu website that list the games that are already out so Grounding Inc game won't be Crimson Dragon (It's listed in a already released part) so I would assume they are making Phantom Dust 2 since they have been in talks for a long time

Dead Rising 3 won't be the Capcom game either because off same reason (I think Lol)

Just a forewarning, if you non-japanese xbox owners want the digital only japanese games you will need a japanese xbox.
while disks arent region locked, digital purchases are.

Ugh XB1 never need this anymore

Just change country, and buy the game

Huh?? No mutiple accounts from different regions like my PS3/4??

XBOX doesn't do that.
But no worries, you can enjoy needing to pay for a SECOND Kinect rather than hot swapping a single Kinect between your US and Japanese XBOX.
...Even if there is no Japanese only games that use Kinect!  MS just made sure you would have the pleasure of owning a "Japanese" Kinect.

Are you sure you'll need 2 kinects for this? Sounds counter-intuitive.

You don't have to,don't even need buy Japanese Xbox One

Change country, and buy it,though Japanese credit card are way different than rest of the world,so mostly you will need Japanese gift card
