Forums - Gaming - Titanfall exclusivity proved to be (quite) pointless

Are you really trying to deny that you have one?

Think for some seconds what you are saying...

Me.

Ethomaz.

A Sony's fanboy.

Being accused of agenda over Battlefield 3.

C'mon makes sense first to start to discuss something.

Next time: Ethomaz's agenda over CoD, GTA, Borderlands, Batman, [insert any multiplatform game here].

Lol. I think you need to take your own advice.

You were using BF sales to try and downplay Titanfall. That's where your agenda shows.

Wait... what?

I used Battlefield to say neither it can be considered the EA's CoD in reponse to guy that said that Titanfal is the EA's CoD... if I remembered about Medal of Honor then I will use it instead Battlefield.

I didn't used Battlefield to downplay Titanfall... I used Battlefield (I forgot Medal of Honor is an EA game) to show how ridiculous this claim is "EA has been trying to have it's own COD for many years. Finally they got it, and they messed it up."

After that you asked me a question and I awnsered it because I'm a really cool guy... but not satisfacted you entered in this console war to say I have an agenda to try to avoid the fact that my comments are on spot.

My comments was clear since beggining and backup by numbers.

The only comparision between game I did was "Neither Battlefield is a CoD, how can you say Titanfal is? Boom".

I think it's the opposite.

A good hype and marketing never hurted anyone/game.

Blantant lie. CIP Fuse.

I'm pretty sure some gamers like you are disturbed that TF(hasty generalization/exaggeration), had hype beasts behind it and an immense gamers enthusiasm

Like all the prerelease rewards it won and after release...oh wait.

Plus it sold with a 3:1 tie in ratio; amazing for a new IP.

Wii Sports did better. Truly amazing but...seriously this is the only thread still talking about it.

Equally hyped continuing franchises couldn't even do that on different platforms with higher installbase.

Claim+Evidence+Reasoning = Explanation

Detractors had more threads saturating VGC, than gamers rejoicing the mentioned glme. I know this because you're in EVERY SINGLE one of them.

I think you're mistaken. There were a lot more TitanFall pro threads than con threads. They just didn't survive as long as this one because this is SonyChartz. #dealwithalwaysonproductplacement

You are confused friend.

What does FUSE have to do with Titanfall? Titanfall was mostly hyped by gaming journalist that PLAYED it at last years E3 and shortly afterwards.

We're not talking about The Last Guardian. Which is super overhyped but nobody have seen anything since 2006.

Wii Sports was heavily bundled, not even comparable to Titanfall bundle. The latter had a midnight release just for the software.

Oh I'm making a false claim that Titanfall sold better than Infamous, Tomb Raider, Donkey Kong etc..? Ok.

I don't think Titanfall pro-threads needed to survive to prove a point.

More than pro threads to "justify" Titanfall quality, you should look at the sales instead.

The detractors are still trying to diminish anything Titanfall related or Xbox. That's why it survives this long.

Which is why I said to look at COD sales when it was still a new IP. Titanfall very much had/has the potential to be the next big thing in ther FPS market, but you're saying that it can't compare to COD (which only sold a small fraction at its inception of what it sells today) because it doesn't even sell as well as Battlefield (which is a massive shooter that you are downplaying the success of in an attempt to make Titanfall look worse.)

"After that you asked me a question and I awnsered it because I'm a really cool guy." Oh please lol. All you tried to do is spin in an effort to deny that a franchise that sells far more than GT isn't bigger than it. And we both know why.

You just said a couple posts ago that you are a PS fanboy, so I don't know why you're now trying to deny that you're using fanboy logic.

Sorry... GT franchise is bigger than Battefield franchise... it sold more.

I didn't try to downplay Battefield 3 because it sales already do that... fans thinks they are in the same level than CoD but even CoD declining is bigger than Battefield peak.

There is nothing massive in Battlefield.

Titanfall is not the EA's CoD... the comparision is silly and neither Battlefield could do that... Titanfall sales right now didn't compare even with Medal of Honor.

I'm being a fanboy won't change these facts.

Perhaps everyone else is confused and I'm the only sane one here.

What does FUSE have to do with Titanfall? Titanfall was mostly hyped by gaming journalist that PLAYED it at last years E3 and shortly afterwards.

Games like Fuse, Haze, Duke Nukem Forever, multiplats with the exception of Haze, that were overhyped and under delivered. Journalist hype whatever can get them page views, and clearly most complaints about TitanFall are after market issues such as content. Granted this can be solved in patches, but this is why E3 awards don't hold as much water when compared to after release awards. Clearly, hype helped TitanFall, but even it is suffering from the unrealistic expecations of overhype.

We're not talking about The Last Guardian. Which is super overhyped but nobody have seen anything since 2006.

Its mainly hyped cause its an eco game and supposed to be the spirtual successor to Shadow of the Collusus, a game with little hype but many accolades. Just like Fuse was hyped because it was made by Insomniac.

Wii Sports was heavily bundled, not even comparable to Titanfall bundle. The latter had a midnight release just for the software.

But Wii Sports was by all accounts a system seller. Especially with the Casuals, todays equivalent would be "games" like Candy Crush and Flappy Bird. I'd say its pretty comparable. Also, personally, I don't really get hyped for games unless its predecessors have impressed me like Kingdom Hearts or Halo. In fact I would say the only reason its been hyped up at all is because its by Respawn. If the  Ground Zeroes or FFXV was playable at was at E3 it would have definetly over shadow TF imo.

Oh I'm making a false claim that Titanfall sold better than Infamous, Tomb Raider, Donkey Kong etc..? Ok.

Neither Infamous nor Donkey Kong are multiplat, and none of these games were equally hyped as Titan Fall. None of them had a bunch of E3 awards plastered on the cover. Not to mention Infamous and Donkey Kong are true exclusives, as opposed to the LinuxMicrosoft exclusivity of Titan Fall. So PC+360+X1 is definetly alot more than the 7mill ps4 or 6 mil Wii U.

I don't think Titanfall pro-threads needed to survive to prove a point.

Its evident that the hype has died down. The games are in peoples hands now. They can judge for themselves.

More than pro threads to "justify" Titanfall quality, you should look at the sales instead.

I see the sales, they are doing well. However, the X1 copy is getting outsold by a remade ported mmo with subscription of a dying franchise on the PS4. Do with that as you will. If Halo comes out this year, it will destroy that even if it is a remake.

The detractors are still trying to diminish anything Titanfall related or Xbox. That's why it survives this long.

That is a bit of an exaggeration but what are you gonna do, haters gonna hate. Even sans console allegiance, some console people might not want to get a 360/one just for Titan Fall. Its not hard to empathize with the Saltiness people have towards this game especially when it was hyped so much.

Ding ding ding!

Idk what it is about this game that makes him reach for such levels of FUD. It's not even Xbone exclusive. Etho, do you really want it on PS4 that bad? There's always Titanfall 2.

Your comments makes no sense at all... neither his comments.

We STILL talking about this?

To put this as simply as possible, yes the marketing raised expectations above what reality is. That said, the reality of the product benefited Xbox very much in a variety of ways. Just because it fell below a bar that was set impossibly high, doesn't mean it was anything resembling a failure.
