Forums - Sony - Why do I feel the urge to buy a PS4?

If you have a tonne of disposable income, why not?

I have both the X1 and the PS4. The X1 has better games right now (outside of indies), but frankly neither one is worth buying right now if money is tight.

Why, indies are not regular games? Some of the best games I have played in my life were indies.

So your argument is: "XB1 has better exclusive retail boxed games at launch?", seriously?

The true is that PS4 has better/more games at launch, right now and would have even more in the future. Since the launch the PS4 wins at quantity and quality (the best scored metacritic exclusive game is on PS4 with Resogun, truth fact) + free games choice.

But, yes, ok, XB1 has more retail exclusive games at launch you are right here, but not sure modern digital gamers really care about that.

My argument is as stated - unless you have a large amount of discretionary income, neither console is worth the price of admission right now.

As already outlined in this thread, Resogun is clearly a good game.  It is also not even close to utilising the extensive capabilities inherent in the hardware we all have to pay an awful lot of money for.  I am inclined to believe that outside of the kinds of people who frequent these forums, the vast majority of the greater than 150 million people who purchase pricey home consoles care very much about the sorts of high profile big-budget titles they can purchase for their system.

Well in this case I am sure many bought the PS4 because they know PS4 has the better version of most multiplats. COD@1080p instead of 720p, AC4@1080p/900p, BF4@900p/720p, the recent Trial Fusion 1080p/900p (almost 800p phew), the future Watchdogs 1080p/9??p etc. And judging by the stats about multiplats sales gamers know it too.

The only argument that is true is still "XB1 has more retail exclusives at launch". Is that still really a winning argument?

"Resogun...It is also not even close to utilising the extensive capabilities inherent in the hardware we all have to pay an awful lot of money for" sarcasm? Because you can't be serious.

I want a PS4... but that library makes me content with my PS3.

I'll get a PS4 eventually, but its gonna need some strong 1st party games before that happens.

A better question would be do you think Resogun comes close to demonstrating the capabilities of the PS4?

On the contrary, I am sure most gamers bought the PS4 because they know the PS4 has all the same multiplats as the Xbox One, and has them at an entry price $100 less.

But as I just discovered you're the kind of poster who feels resolution is a key purchasing point for the masses, this concludes our interaction!

Have a great day

Lots of contradictions here.

You tell me that I am focused at better resolutions (graphics) but at the same time you feel that Resogun is not such a great game only because it doesn't push the hardware enough? Suddenly just for Resogun you forget gameplay/quality but only Resogun graphics are important?

But now for multiplats graphics (resolution) aren't important for gamers, only cheaper PS4 price?

Better conclude our discussion indeed.

It's the overhype Titanfall also got... Aside from that, it's too expansive currently.
I will definitely wait for the second or third hardware revision and lower prices (and hopefully matte finishes).

Which truth lies in an opinion?!

What better game X1 has compared to PS4? The only talk I've been hearing about is Titanfall and even that game is on 360 and it runs nearly as well as the X1 version.

I think this website's recent prudish avatar rules has lead you to want one... Now how those two relate, I can not speak of at the moment, but a reason is there somewhere...

It could also be because of hype and feeling left out of future greatness.

You could easily ask the other way round. Both consoles are underwhelming currently.
