So I was playing a little bit of Madden today and then I noticed that it lacked the action that i am used to. I grew up playing a bit of NFL blitz when I was younger so I felt a little awkward playing an NFL game without the extreme hits and fast pace action. I downloaded a N64 emulator and NFL Blitz 2001 and there I was: Tackling and throwing far out into the field. 

I thought to myself: Why doesn't someone revive the franchise? The one company I can see making an NFL Blitz 2015 is Konami. Konami needs another hit franchise, but which company would want that on their console? Microsoft wont because Madden is well known. Sony would just rely on EA to make more Maddens.The only company I see who would actually pay for it is Nintendo since the Wii U does not have Madden. 

Imagine Nintendo funding this for the Wii U. This will actually cause the Western audience to think about getting a Wii U. Anyone who has played the original NFL Blitz will agree. 

I don't even think many wiiU owners care about sport games tbh... Wii sports sold so much cause it was easy to pick up and play and fun for everyone and not to mention it was free

So idk, I don't think it would be very wise for Nintendo to fund this when they could be funding something else like Metroid

And remember, getting people to think about getting a wiiU isn't the same as them getting a wiiU and I doubt this will be a system seller

NFL gave EA exclusive rights NFL video games.

Any 3rd party publisher that'd want to do that would need some serious coin to wrestle away a license agreement from the NFL (and probably EA too).

Midway tried to revive it with Blitz: The League and Blitz: The League II. The problem is that the NFL no longer wants to promote the ultra violent hits of the original game. Therefore they would never allow the NFL license on the game, even if Madden did have exclusive rights to it. And consumers have shown they are not interested in American football games that do not have the NFL license.

NFL and Madden still have an exclusive arrangement. Concussion era means no insane violence. I'd like it, but it won't happen.

NHL Hitz was my favourite of the old Midway-published arcade sports titles back in the day. 20-03 was hilarious and I still get together to play Hitz Pro on Gamecube with friends occasionally even now.

To answer your question though, no, I wouldn't buy a new NFL Blitz game.
