Yeah, that's why we think it's overrated.  People think it's good just for that.  Everything I ask someone why they like this game, they're so quick to jump to "It's got a 95 on gameranking and won more GOTYs than anyother game" That doesn't anwser my question

So any high awarded game is overrated with that mindless logic. That logic literally hurts my brain, it is right down silly.

I think your problem is you went in with a whole bunch of preconceptions and that ruined the experinence for you. As a reviewer, that's one's job but as a gamer that's no way to play a game. TLOU reminded of me of the first dead space, with less gore. I completly immersed myself in the game, and thats the way its supposed to be played.

The Multiplayer which I didn't play might be a shooter, but the single player is barely qualified as a shooter. Guns are basically the quickest way to die when fighting clickers and infected. They are only ever good against human opponents and then even when conserving ammo I still never had more than like 20 shots. I would consider it more of a stealth game rather than a shooter, even the concept of running and gun makes absolutely no sense when talking about TLOU single player.

I went into Bioshock with the same expectations and Bioshock was a game I actually enjoyed.  It's not like I think every game which is well recieved is overrated, just this one, mostly

No, it's not.  If something rehashes something, and then does it badly, I think thats a valid concern for a critique.

Last Gen was dominated by shooter, yet Titan Fall is dominating the charts on 360 and X1, Mario is like 30+ years old, I could go on...

Instead of just making derogatory comments why don't you actually explain your comments.

Why in the world would the ps4 come with backwards compatabity, that makes zero sense.

Why is walking dead similar to TLOU, they take place in a zombie world, that's ittttt.

Why is it a genric shooter? Because it has guns...

The writing is terrible, how bout an example of some good video game writing to compare it too?

Maybe if you had some valid points in your opinion instead of just venting because you're angry, maybe you would be a bit more credible.

It's not a remake. It's a late port.
Seeing how universally it is acclaimed by critics and gamers alike it is a logical step and great for the handful of people who haven't played it yet.
Also it was apparently not a big deal to port so why not?



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This tired money milking conspiracy again. When in fact everyone was asking for a ps4 version before the game or PS4 ever came out. They gave people what they wanted and as a result people are happy. This is one of the best games of all time, so you’re in the extreme minority here. It’s funny because you have complaints but don’t give any real examples. I'd like to know what you feel is a better game, I have a feeling you'd be in the minority there too.

Their are games that are actually original and place game over story like a GAME should.  Mario Galaxy 2, Bioshock infinite and Xenogears come to mind.

Now please, what do you think was so mind numbingly awesome and great that made TLOU stand out from other games released on ps3?
