Good finding.

Looks like Christ didn't make any miracle in this coming....

Wii U is at least up YoY, so over 68k

Wiiu supposedly up from last year (68k+)

VGC #s

73k=WiiU
28k=Vita

Some People were expecting 50k+ for Vita

Wii + Wii U Oh, and vita is officially dead. Very close to 4 digits.

why would Xbox remove kinect,i just don't get that,it is a major part of the system,they should have stuck with what they had originally planned and taken the long game

My first reaction was that this was sarcasm but seeing as how its not parodying anything people are saying, I've come to the conclusion that you actually believe this and such is puzzling.

The situation we are in where the gap is only "2 million" can attest to that. The casuals aren't picking it up when it has MS is basically subsidizing the Kinect and Titan Fall and giving them away for free. How on earth can you claim that a 500$ DRM Spybox would perform even at par with what MS has now?

Well he did say "the long game." by which I assume he meant completely bomb this generation (worse than Wii U), but come back with avengance in the 9th generation when everything has the same DRM and all games are digitally distributed / streamed. Surely by "the long game" on DRM policies like Mattrick dreamed up one cannot mean making a substantial compeback in the generation in which those policies were put in place.

As for VGC accuracy. They actually didn't do a bad job with Xb one: 346 vs 311 is only 11% out which is fine. For PS4 they are 21% out which is a bit much, but still not terrible, and that's assuming 371K is correct for PS4 as that number is unconformed we could be looking at somewhat less, which would put VGC difference at less than 20%. 360 is what got seriously short changed at almost 50%, but who cares about last gen now really?

Anyway, wow I was not expecting an up to 60K lead for PS4 over Xb one. I thought it would be an even contest in which Xb one was likely to be the narrow winner thanks to the TF giveaway and price drop. Interestingly though, even if not actual nummbers, Amazon seems to have been a pretty good predicter of which console would come out on top, with PS4 pretty much being ahead of Xb one on the best sellers list all month.

And now we know where most of the missing 100K PS4s went with Sony announcing 7 million sell through and VGC showing 6.9 million LTD as of the same date.

Clearly those of us who thought TF would not push hardware as much as the hypesters thought, because it is multiplatform after all, were right, at least insofar as the US is concerned. The game is doing very well for a MP only new IP, but the game is only really selling itself it would seem. MS really needed an actual XB one exclusive to uber-hype during this period. It shows that even a 2nd tier franchise like inFamous can push console sales better than a well hyped multiplatform.

I don't see amazing things happening from Quantum Break or Sunset Overdrive, though QB should give the console a minor boost. Indeed I think Sunset Overdrive is not a good fit for the Xb one demographic. Insomniac is known to the PS fanbase and the PS fanbase appreciates the quirkyness of Insomniac. But it is what it is and I hope the game does well, I like Insomniac as a studio even if they did lose their way a bit with a few of the latest R&C games. It appears that most of the Xb one eggs are in the Halo basket.

And now that price really isn't a factor with Xb one, and according to many the AAA game library on Xb one is better (but in all reality if it is then it isn't by much), then can we say that this generation it does seem specs matter, and more people are buying the better spec'd machine because it's about the same pricve, even though you get a fancy camera with the lower spec'd machine? I dunno, I feel like the smartphone craze with people getting more exposed to spec lists of the devices they are considering has caused people to consider specs in their purchasing choices more than they have in the past.

So almost 1 million consoles are still unsold? Xbox One needs to ditch kinect fast. As for PS4 it is still going strong.

Yes, they do need to dump kinect. I was mostly an x360 guy last gen, but, with it's over bloated price tag, and an accessory I don't want, I went with the cheaper ps4. I want an x1, I just think kinect sucks to high heaven. Had a kinect for the 360, hated it. Despised it. Got rid of it. When I can get an x1 without kinect, I'll pick one up.

Sweet.  Looks like VGC is spot on for Wii U, then.

One thing is for sure, MS completely FUCKED themselves with their reveal. I'm genuinely curious what was going on in the Xbox corporate office in the few days leading into the reveal.

Were Mattrick and all the other suits just stoked and thought that people were going to be jumping for joy at all the DRM and online only connection? Because ANYONE could have told them that reveal was suicidal.

Honestly they've done pretty damn well considering how massive of a blow that reveal was.

68k>WiiU< 100k
10k>Vita<15k
Vita is COMPLETELY dead in the US

It has ZERO chance of winning this generation in sales IMO. But I really don't understand why there's this massive black / white scenario with console sales. Its honestly a strange concept.

I swear console warriors are just strange.

Ehh maybe casue MS them selfs just said they are in it to win not be second.

And its humen nature to be the best, 2nd means you are the first loser.

Not in business its not. All that matters in business is if you are profiting with a product. Ones that do are kept, ones that don't profit are usually cut.

I'm not saying MS is all sunshine and rainbows right now. But the console just sold 311k units in March.  That isn't bad by ANY standard. Obviously it took a lot to get them there and I think there is certainly work to be done at MS studios but reading some of the posts on GAF and here are boarderline shocking.  It really goes to show you how little actual analysis there is in the current gaming community on the internet and how much is posted / written in blind emotion / opinions.

Well, the bad thing for MS is that even though they sold ~53K more than in Feb, they didn't make more profit off  of it.  The One was cut by $50 at all major retailers, even MS own stores.  On top of that, they had to pay EA to give Titanfall away for free.  I wouldn't be surprised if they just broke even, or even had a loss, for March.
