Depends on what you compare it with. If you compare it with nothing then yes, good support. If you compare it with the insane support X1 and PS4 are getting in their launch year it's nothing.

Im viewing it as a standalone product and not comparing it to anything. I admit im a Wii U only owner, but there is more than enough content now and future to keep me a happy gamer. I dont feel the need to go out and buy multiple consoles this gen.

Well "good" and "bad" are comparative adjectives and only work in direct comparisons. It's also hard to fairly judge a situation if you only have one choice. I'm pretty sure our grandparents thought life was fine without the Internet but that's just because they didn't know it back then. And I'm pretty sure the first cavemen were absolutely content with eating just raw meat.

So if you see it as standalone it's really just up to personal experience. You probably wouldn't say no to more support though. And you might think differently if you once had a higher level of support and then suddenly not anymore even though you were once content with it.

No they are not, they are adjectives, their comparative forms are "better" and worse". It is obviously possible to determine if something is good or bad without comparing it to anything else, however the same can't be said about determining what is better or worse.

Nope. You can't tell if something is bad if you don't know what good is. Nothing is bad if you don't know what good is and the other way around.

So now 'hole' is a comparative concept because you can't know what it is without knowing what 'not a hole' is? Obviously you need to know the definition of a word to be able to use it. Meaningless example in other words.  Meanwhile, in grammar there is such a thing as an adjective and a comperative form of an adjective. Good is, wait for it...., not a comperative form.

About the time when PS4 and Xbox One was launching, a friend of mine asked if Nintendo was also going to launch a new console.

Oh no, your friend knew about WiiU. He wanted to know if Nintendo would laucn a real next gen console though to compete with them xD jk

Nintendo's advertising has been pretty horrible with WiiU

For someone like me who gets about 10 hours of gaming time / week, it's perfect.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It's been pretty terrible so far honestly if you bought one at launch.

For me I'm fine because I didn't get my Wii U until a few months ago. I had a nice selection of games available to pick from. They should keep me interested until MK8 and then hopefully we have a steady flow of games starting up again from there.

Between August and December 2013 the Wii U had a steady flow going. DKCTF wasn't until late February and now there is a 3 month gap until Mario Kart. That's too long.

When you look at the genres, unless you are a huge fan of platformers or party games, there really is very little.

I think the support has been decent, not good but also not that bad. Yes, there are some important games missing, but just a few of those were great games. The flow is what looks bad, as there is no steady release of titles (good or bad). The biggest problem is the lack of support from a few publishers like EA and Konami, that make the situation look worse than it is, because the Wii U is missing some "taken for granted" games like Madden, FIFA, NFS and PES.

The problem isnt really the number of games, rather the inconsistant release schedule. The majority of games have either came at launch or in the final quarter of last year. It had a long drought last year and is having one again this year. There needs to be a few games every month, not just a handful in the first 3 quarters followed by a solid holiday quarter.
