Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Titanfall have the same impact as Call of Duty 4?

Before COD4, the entire fps genre was cluttered with World War II games. Nobody wanted to experiment. Then Infinity Ward came and revolutionized the genre by giving a multiplayer experience far beyond all their competitors. It also had a relatively fresh modern setting.

Well now everyone's tired of modern shooters too. Titanfall has recently brought players into the future with mechs and parkour, are other developers going to use that as insipiration and create futuristic sci-fi shooters?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Doesn't really look like it

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Doesn't look like it will honestly.

Same impact as Medal of Honor....the reboot.

The most popular FPS during CoD WWII days was Halo and Unreal Tournament. Yep, definitely cluttered with WWII games, no future sci-fi games there at all.

Hmm, pie.

If any game could start a sci-fi shooter craze then Halo would have done it. I feel bad for player who still want WW2 shooters. This industry seems quick to abandon whatever is not the latest fad.

Not even close.

yes

Futuristic sci-fi shooters?!? Anyone heard of Halo? Killzone? XD

No. Titanfall won't influence FPS like COD 4 did. Not even close.

Heck, it won't even touch it sales wise.

Another one bites the dust.....

No. The genre is already saturated
