It's going to be released before Christmas, my guess would be November. And we may see Zelda or Metroid early 2015 in an attempt to keep sales momentum going after Christmas.

Maybe it will be released in december 2014, maybe in the first months of 2015. Maybe the latter is a delay or not, depending on the definition of 'winter 2014' (which strangly enough is debatable). Fact is, it's too little too late. A 6 months drought at minimum after Mario Kart? Come on Nintendo, even a Nintendobeliever as myself will have to acknowledge the Wii U has been given up...

X this year over Smash? I'm absolutely not seeing a problem with this possibility.

I'll take X over any other game on any other system all day every day for the rest of the year.

It will come out in 2014. Past delays like Donkey Kong were strategic because 3D World would have overshadowed it and they had nothing coming in 2014 until May with Mario Kart. Well, now there are no other big holiday games we know of (Zelda U is very doubtful) so there would be nothing strategic or smart about delay. It would substantially hurt holiday sales, all for what, an extra two months of work put into it?

I don't think we will get Zelda U this year, probably 2015 or 2016.

There's still thay Pokken Fighter game, maybe thats the "big holiday" game this year to keep momentum until Smash comes.

Also, there is probably a few games not yet announced by Nintendo.

We will find out at E3. But even if it does release in 2014, they still need a other game imo.

Also they really need to launch games between MK and Smash. I fear they will do like what they did after DK where we had no games for March, April and May. They need to get that Bayonetta out in like september at the latest imo.

Yeah, if it isn't, that's just a huge mistake on Nintendo's part. Wii could afford to launch Smash any damn time it pleased, but Wii U needs a big holiday push. Bayonetta isn't going to move consoles at Christmas.

Actually, I think Winter 2014 literally means 2014.
