I really wouldn't be surprised if they're going to release another FF a year after FFXV is out like they did with VIII, IX and X.

I'm not sure it's still possible to develop a AAA jrpg in one year, even while re-using the engine and models. It all depends on how much they are prepared for this (Another team already working on it ?)

Pretty sure VIII, IX and X used different engines and they had different teams to finish them all within a year. But as you said in this day in age I don't think it really is possible without having years time of building engines and I doubt SE had the money to do that. I love to dream though.

Well, doing it now would mobilize two 800 people team at once, and some user on the forum had some theory about FFXVI being developped right now (with XII's director).
But in this day and age, there are multiple ways to keep the interest of people in a game or a series. DLCs every three months, Definitive/GOTY edition after a year, spin offs, etc.

But going back on the user who had a few proofs Hiroyuki Ito was directing a Final Fantasy right now, it's pretty clear that Tetsuya Nomura won't be FFXV-2 director, as KH3 is in pre-production. So there is a slight possibility that might be true. I didn't like FFXII artistic direction tough.

I remember a thread like that on another forum. It is possible but the fact SE is nearly bankrupt gives me doubts.

Dear God I hope SE doesn't milk DLCs like most games do. I guess we'll have to wait till E3.

Forgot abou Lily Bergamo, probably cause we don't know much about it, and I have no interest in Deep Down so I guess it slipped my mind. Even so I'd like them to actually announce a new game.

It's probably really easy for them to get Japanese exclusives I mean most JRPGs are exclusive to them anyway, they just have to fund a game to bring it up to next gen. For instance, Namco already said they are experimenting with a next gen Tales of, the recent games have already been exclusive to Sony so I'm sure if Sony throws them a little money Namco can pump out a next gen Tales way faster.

Idk for sure but I assume so. If you look at Tales of Zestiria it is very similar to Graces f when it comes to the combat, so I'm assuming theres a seperate team that made Graces f and is making Zestiria and another team that made Xillia 1 and 2.
