the only way the games will be equal is if devs hold back the ps4 version.

In the end it doesn't really matter, what matters is that the games work without bugs and all your friends are on the same platform. If you got that you are set. If they all on one or the other you will have to follow or make new friends lol.

They haven't and they won't. The power gap is simple, unlike the theoretical gap of PS3 vs 360 (PS4 and XB1 are basically the same machine, one is faster, the other comes with more media features), there is no need to hold back the ps4 version. Even if they develop on the xb1 first, the PS4 will always have more room. E.g, a multiplat runs on X1 1080p with fps 10-30fps, that same game will probably be 30fps locked if not +30 unlocked on the PS4, and thats with a direct port.

Even in Dev Cost parity, its still not parity, the hw is significant enough to make a difference.

In combination with price, PS4 has the complete multiplatform advantage, and consequently the most games to its advantage even barring indies.

Most Games = Most People = Most Friends

If only it was that simple these days. A lot of people have invested so much into LIVE that they will not care about the other variables and go for the xbox.

If only it was that simple these days. A lot of people have invested so much into LIVE that they will not care about the other variables and go for the xbox.


The only thing people have invested in live and PSN, is trophies acheivements, all games that were bought digitally are useless for both platforms currently. Switching this time is still easy.

Apparently there is a mystical section of the board where "Xbox fanboys" just won't shut up about this and quit defending it. So we must talk about every time a developer reminds us of what we already know.

Playstation fanboys will never stop trying to make a huge deal of every small difference (funny how last gen when PS3 has inferior multiplats it wasn't a big deal, and was usually blamed on "lazy developers").

 

Anyways Gilray seems like a major fanboy every comment I see from him in the past is something about how great PS4 is or attacking Microsoft's policies.

 

And funny how when Lanning said the gap was closing everybody was like "how would he know, Oddworld looks like crap graphically anyway and doesn't stress the consoles".

 

But now when a guy involved with Oddworld says PS4 is better, he does know?

Also, Gilray forgot to mention a few facts, XB1 has more CPU speed (1.75 ghz vs 1.6) more Geometry setup due to faster GPU clock (853 mhz vs 800 mhz), more game usable RAM (5GB vs 4.5GB), more peak bandwidth (176 GB/s vs 272 GB/s ESRAM+DDR3)
