Forums - Gaming - Amazon Game Studios....seems loaded with talent.

If their game system only was loaded with actual hardware.

I am betting this could be pretty awesome if done right.

Think about Amazon's mentality in terms of selling hardware. They sell all their kindle's for significant losses, with the expectation that they will make that money back with services, apps, etc.

Their newer high end kindle tablets are pretty great in terms of bang for your buck. High end hardware for cheap prices.

With that in mind, I suspect that Amazon might release a console that is quite a bit more powerful than the PS4 for cheaper. Think about this, a digital only console with reduced initial costs for new games, that has the talent of Amazon's new studios behind it, as well as being a beast in terms of specs. All they need to do is get third parties, and nail the online, and you would have a pretty cool console.

I know they want to make a new console, but I think they might be better served by being a 3rd party creator. Will be interesting to see how it goes. Amazon likes to try out things.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Did you confuse "actual" with "current"?

Isn't it like half of 360's power?

Ehm, and? Of course it's no competition to last-gen and current-gen hardware.  But I still think vivster confused the words which happens if you are German ;)

They need to redesign that controller, stat.  It looks extremely uncomfortable.  Why so angular?

Correct me if I'm wrong, this Amazon console is more comparable to the Ouya than the other consoles in what kinda games it's trying to deliver, right?

If so then I find this to be a kinda sad waste of great human resources, if they'd use this talent to make a multiplat studio making AAA games that'd be awesome, since they're only making games for this Amazon device which does really not appeal to me, I can only say 'meh'.

You're wrong.

They'll surely have the typical mobile library that you seem to toss out as crap. But, they are clearly also going to deliver the console/pc games via streaming capabilities that you hold at a biased higher category.

As I mentioned in the other OT thread. This will quickly outpace Ouya/Roku/etc... but as time goes on this could become a serious challenger to consoles.

How is this biased?  The market clearly agrees they are in a higher category.  That is why they are priced higher and people pay more for those games than mobile games.

Each style of game has it place, but people clearly do not value them the same.

ARM is garbage for AAA gaming

Lets hope they didn't get people who worked on some great games just to tell them to make games that look similar to the games they worked on.

oh... wait

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
