Considering no one knows the digital attach rate, what is even the point? Titanfall could have another 50% digital sales to inFamous' 10% or viseversa. Until we get some official numbers there is no evidence to prove either argument. They both sold well and are helping push hardware.

Pretty much this. Idk about Infamous 3 but anecdotal evidence leads me to believe Titanfall has a huge digital footprint. Official numbers will be the only ones worth comparing imho.
--OkeyDokey-- said: inFamous is a B-tier franchise for Sony. Titanfall only doing 200k more considering it's supposed to carry the entire platform is kind of pathetic to be honest. inFamous is not the one that looks bad in this comparison. |
What "tier" a franchise is in during a previous generation is irrelevant when its a launch window title for a new system. Sony knew exactly what they were doing launching it when they did. Much like EA knew Titanfall would get a lot more exposure launching during the dry months right after launch.
I mean, wouldn't you also consider Resistance to be a "B-tier" franchise? It was a launch window title and it ended up outselling the two sequels combined. Launch window games sell more. Not only that but the PS4 has a 2,500,000+ userbase advantage, and Xbone sales of Titanfall are cannibalized by PC and 360 sales.
I posted numerous times that I expected Infamous to sell more, honestly given those parameters, it should have. Titanfall is currently over 400k ahead, I would expect Infamous to eventually pass it, especially once the 360 version of TF launches, and the sequel comes out. That should be an area where Infamous 3 really makes up ground. Once Titanfall 2 is out and presumably is out on all platforms, there will be no reason for anyone to buy TF1. Meanwhile who knows when/if another Infamous will drop.
Idk why either game has to "look bad" here. Infamous 3 will probably go on and be the highest selling game of the franchise and it has given PS4 owners something to play since there is little else right now. Titanfall has provided a good boost to hardware sales and provided Xbone owners something amazing to play in a time where there is little else.
