Which works better: Wii Remote Plus or PlayStation Move?

Wii Remote Plus 148 36.63%

Equal 16 3.96%

PlayStation Move 158 39.11%

Have just tried one or no... 81 20.05%

Wiimote by far. Especially the pointer.

I tried Move for House of the Dead Overkill and the pointer just went all over the place regardless of calibration. I used the sharpshooter attachment as well as the Wand on its own.

The Fight had a woeful response by the Move Wands, with punches going everywhere, a small step away from the original location and it all went to crap as well.

Storybook works okay.

Move works slightly better, and there's a very simple reason for it: It's technically slightly more advanced.

That is because the Playstation Move controller contains all the relevant sensors that Wii Remote Plus contains (acceleration sensor + gyroscope), but additionally also allows for position tracking using the glowing orb and the playstation camera. It's as simple as that.

There is only one area in which Wii Remote - even the original, not "Plus" Wii Remote - is slightly better than Playstation Move, and that is for being used as an onscreen pointer device.

The Wii/Wii U titles that utilize the IR pointer are my preferred mo-control games - wii motion plus or not.

How is this a debate? Power Glove kicks their asses because it's not just a stick in your hand.

Btw I'm only half serious.

Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.

from the PoV of pure technology,..  move is a better setup.  having the camera positioned at the TV instead of in the controller is plain and simply more accurate for no other reason than it doesn't "lose sight" as often.

from the PoV of sotfware,..  nintendo makes it feel better typically.  they are using tricks all over the place.   for a guy like me that can see through the veil it made games like wii sports resort unplayable and boring.  once i found out that (for instance) playing the frisbee golf game as if you were actually throwing a frisbee hindered your throw's accuracy i just couldn't play that game anymore.   for most people, however, it makes the game feel more fun because they don't actually have to be good at frisbee in order to be decent at the game.

My bias is towards Nintendo. Now, while Skyward Sword has the best use of motion controls of any game I've ever played the Move is just a better motion controller overall. Wish Sony would have done more with it.

Again, I call 'em like I see em. I keep wanting to go back and grab every Move/Kinect game I ever wanted because they're dirt cheap now. Maybe I still will.

Well I've not played either so I can't say from experience, but the one piece of praise Sorcery got was that it used Move brilliantly. So if you haven't tried Sorcery it might be worth giving it a go.

I hope Sorcery becomes available on PSN+ because I'd like to give it a go. Though now that I have Bioshock infinite I've finally got a game I can use Move with for the first time since inFamous 2. And I much prefer inFamous with Move controls so I am quite disappointed that Second Sons did not include Move controls.

socery was pretty good but i gave up about half way through the game.

the move controllers were spectacularly accurate.  i was very impressed for a while.  ..but in the end, this was a kiddy game.  i'm not intending that to be a dig exactly,...  just that the game was purposly designed to be pretty easy and straight forward.  it would have been perfect for a younger child but as an adult it just lacked the depth in gameplay to keep my interested for more than a few hours.

Agreed. In technological terms, Move outclasses Wii Remote. However, Nintendo and third parties extracted much more from the Wii Remote than Sony and its third party partners did with Move.

d21, you should totally invest in the Move and Kinect titles. I picked up Kinect Sports, Sports Champions, and Sorcery (among others) for a song. Plus a lot of non-Kinect and Move games use the hardware: Skyrim, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Killzone 3, to name a few.

wow, until now approximately 80% say "equal"^^

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.
