Forums - Sales - [insiderp] PS4 reaches 7 million worldwide as Infamous : Second Son sells a million at launch

"for the extended Infamous Week ending March 28, 2014"

65-77k we say for 1st week of inFamous in UK AND maybe a second week of 20-25k ? ^^

So 90k

They said PS4 outsold Xbone in TF launch in week in UK... GFK said the oposite... PS4 just outsold again (after 4 week in a row losing) in the ISS launch week.

And if we ban then because of innacuracy we should ban vgc numbers from vgc as well. X1 was massively undertracked in US last month and ps4 mildly undertracked every month.

So let's stop the outcry and just be clear about the source so people can ignore, celebrate or rage as they see fit.

Yeah, this site has about as much credibility as that one. I just wait on NPDs myself.

Ah ok, you mean that ^^ Yes they're wrong !

If true we should get an announcment tomorrow from Sony's twitter and PS blog that it have passed 7 million.

They didn't use twitter or PS Blog for that... give a look here: http://www.scei.co.jp/index_e.html

The fanbase excuse really doesn't cut it in this case, insiderp is the pure definition of a clickbait website and just doesn't deserve any attention.

This news even contradicts itself with another news from the same site. They posted this article before the one in the OP. Even if we for one second assume that in its first 7 days Infamous only sold preorders of the game, which already seems extremely unlikely, then there is still one thing that makes zero sense.

The first article said this:

We have gotten digital pre-order numbers for the game, which is a little over 190,000 units globally

The second article then says this:

** Around 150,000 copies of Infamous : Second Son were sold digitally.

...am I supposed to believe that 40k people just cancelled their digital preorder?

To be fair, VGC pre-order numbers are just as unreliable in many cases. Difference is that insiderp pretend they have numbers direct from some sources.

Which is exactly the problem, I'm pretty sure it is easy as hell for Sony to find out how many digital preorders they have for games and at the same time it is only Sony that knows these numbers, so if they claim that sources told them these numbers, then we have to assume these sources came from Sony and those certainly shouldn't be of by 40k (again assuming that nobody bought the game digitally, that didn't preorder the game).

That site is just making up bullshit and is even making money with it since people give it way too much attention.

insider pee? So that's why it is called a "leak" ;)

Seems like they put 6million faster on the ps blog then the press release.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/03/03/ps4-hits-6-million-ushers-in-new-era-of-social-gameplay/

And the twitter announcment for 4.2 million was also faster then the press release.

Why do people get so upset about this site? Speculation, calculation or just plain old lying? Who knows, but we'll never find out if we don't put them to the test over a decent period of time.

This is wrong to me. Not a period of time but by the amount of articles they are guessing numbers.

Can't believe people give a f*** about them given that they were wrong before numerous times (at least I read this on here that they were wrong).

To me the site looks so bad it seems a kid is making its first tries in html and is making up random numbers.

Reality isn't that far from those numbers. And it'll be worse for the Xbone.

But still they are wrong. Making educated guesses and then saying "well, that wasn't *that* far away* doesn't make this site in any way credible.
