To me, they serve two different needs.

Xbox LIVE provides a stable online multiplayer experience with superior cross-game, chat, and messaging functions. Nintendo Network provides an online community that's far more satisfying on a social, artistic, and creative level.

So, if you want to play games online with people around the world, you want Xbox LIVE, price notwithstanding; if you want to share your experiences, achievements, and ideas with people around the world, you want Nintendo Network.

You forgot about media and gaming features like Xbox Video, Xbox Music and achievements. While yes the online is the best on console, there's way more to love.

I prefer Nintendo Network, simply because I don't really play online. That said, I never had Xbox Live Gold, as I never bothered to pay a fee for playing online If I only do it like once or twice a month anyway. I can't say how much better Xbox Live is when it comes to online play features, the only thing I know is that I only fire up my Xbox 360 to play games, while my Wii U, in addition to playing games of course, serves as a Miiverse/Internet browsing machine, so Nintendo Network offers more value to me.
Also, holy shit is the eShop (on Wii U first and foremost, but also on 3DS) better to navigate than whatever Microsoft's Xbox Store is called. Or the PlayStation Store for that matter.

Add me if you like!

Ask me about 3DS Friend Code if interested. All other things are in the profile!

Xbox Live, is this even a question? I mean Nintendo Network doesn't even a decent account system, games are still saved to the system. That's like PS2 level shit.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

For me free of charge wins this time. Maybe because I don't like XBL.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

Once again the company that people dislike wins another poll

I totally disagree about the navigation thing.  I think it was Monster Hunter for Wii U that I was looking for.  The game was on sale and the only way I could find it was to type in the name of the game.  That thing changes format like every day.  Last time I looked, the shop was "Taken over by Villains" or something.  It's not bad but it's not good, either.

Sony's my least fav company but in order from best to worst (when it comes to ease of shop navigation) I'd say:

8th gen: PS4, XB1,WiiU

7th gen:  X360, PS3, Wii

But it's just my opinion.  Yours is just as valid.

Hmm. On the german eShop there is "on Sale" button right at the top... . But there could be also some "human factor" behind this odd behaviour of the eShop at that time...

Absolut Nothing beats the MiiVerse when comparing kindness and creativity. Which is because of the GamePad and moderation. maybe also because the Wii U buyers are a different kind of gamer. a recent study showed that Wii and Wii U Gamers play all genres equal, while PS3/360 owners play mostly FPS and Action RPG. Don't think that changed that much with the "next gen"...

50/50 for me.
