Forums - Gaming - Xbox Live VS Nintendo Network (Miiverse) - Which is better?

Xbox Live or Nintendo Network?

XBL fo Lyfe! 56 33.33%

Nintendo Network in da Hizzhouse! 79 47.02%

Yo Mama 33 19.64%

Total:168

As far as multiplayer goes, it's not even close. XBL is far ahead of NN. Miiverse is interesting, more of a novelty. Doesn't help that it's heavily censored. Being free is awesome but it doesn't help much when XBL/PSN makes it look like a joke. So overall I'll say XBL.

what is wrong with censorship? I don't want fuckedup pictures in miiverse.

Nintendo Network cos it's free.

I'd rather pay the $35 I usually pay for Xbox Live 12 months than those high Nintendo game prices. I mean come on..why the hell is Pikmin 3 still $60??

Edit: And Mario & Sonic at the Sochi Olympic Winter games is still $50! That game is almost a year old.

Xbox Live is the best online service available on console.

Around the Network

The banning of d21lewis aside, there's a laundry list of reasons why Xbox Live is better than Nintendo's Network. For my money, it is indeed $60 better. I prefer Nintendo to Microsoft but I call 'em like I see 'em.

-Cross game chat
-More media features/apps (ten times more, AT LEAST)
-Game invites
-Better matchmaking
-More stable (though XBL was garbage last night....)
-Gameplay video/Screenshot sharing (Xbox One)
-Free games
-Demos for ALL Indie/Arcade games (with unlimited replays, too)
-Free downloadable videos, TV Shows, etc.
-Faster updates (360. Not sure about the One, yet)
-Voice/Picture/Text messages

Meanwhile Nintendo boasts
-Free
-Miiverse Community

Also I've been able to get into games YEARS after release (Burnout Revenge had a community up until termination and I can still get into a game of Call of Duty 2 from 2005 right now.) while some Wii U games are ghost towns online right after launch.

Even the things the Wii U does well like video chat with the pad, the Kinect(s) do it even better. It's not even a contest.

Also on Miiverse, somebody has been marking any pic I post as a "spoiler". Who would hate ME? I'm America's sweetheart!! The last straw was when I posted a screen that simply said "The End" as proof that I'd beaten Link Between Worlds. It was marked as a spoiler but Nintendo must have reviewed it because the pic was restored. I still have the moderation in my history.

As a result, I don't even post on Miiverse much anymore. I just read posts.

Shit ive been busted!! **turns attention to snyps**

on topic, live is obviously light years ahead as Xbox is a very online focused console, however Miiverse is very good. Im also very impressed by the E-shop too. Nintendo are still miles behind in the online stakes, but to be fair they have made forward strides with the Wii U.

So this is a positive right?

Lol! A lot of people would probably agree with you.

To me, they serve two different needs.

Xbox LIVE provides a stable online multiplayer experience with superior cross-game, chat, and messaging functions. Nintendo Network provides an online community that's far more satisfying on a social, artistic, and creative level.

So, if you want to play games online with people around the world, you want Xbox LIVE, price notwithstanding; if you want to share your experiences, achievements, and ideas with people around the world, you want Nintendo Network.
