Forums - Gaming - Nintendo should start attacking Sony and Microsoft

They need to have something to start attacking with first. They need to focus on bringing out some awesome games first.

While I do agree that Nintendo should be more aggressive since its competition has no problem attack Nintendo, it would be unwise at the Wii U's current state to do so. Maybe towards the holidays when Super Smash is coming out or something.

seriously, I don't get all the "outrage" at Sony PlayStation "attacking" Microsoft Xbox. Its not like they even addressed them in any of their statements. Unlike when Reggie described both of their launch libraries as meh.
Maybe if they didn't set themselves up so easily, Sony wouldn't be able to take a shot.

People nowadays are too sensitive.

There was outrage at Sony's digs at Microsoft? I only saw people laughing about it.

thats why its in quotes. There are certainly people, in the gaming media no less, who were appauled by Sony's "slanderous behavior" and since gaming is supposed to be kid friendly, they believe that Sony "took it too far".

Especially that line: While others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistent in maintaining a message that is fair and in tune with consumer desires

So uncalled for.

Why can't Sony sell playstations off their own merit instead of vaguely criticizing the competition :<

Hmm, what part of the line was inaccurate though?  It's hardly slanderous behaviour when MS changed their message in plain sight.

Why does nintendo need to take shots at Sony or Microsoft when they have the mighty 3ds in which is the top selling console (40million plus and still selling ....also when there are no major releases (titanfall or infamous second son ) is on top of the charts .....and dominating the handheld market and has been number 1 selling console most of this year worldwide

It's not, 3DS has been selling between PS4 & XOne, and is only top selling console in a restricted kind view.  By the same logic the "PSP sold 80 million plus and still selling."

PlatformYearly (change)Total
PS4 2,150,734 (-51%) 6,343,001
3DS 1,495,508 (-90%) 43,580,074
XOne 947,720 (-69%) 3,908,869
PS3 765,025 (-91%) 81,505,406

They should openly crticise Sony and MS everywhere so that the public become more aware
of the advantages their systems offer.

Then they should hire those man childs that made the share video at E3.

See this is exactly what I'm talking about. Look at that "outrage"

oh i think they do. Otherwise the WIi U wouldnt be flopping the way it is. So now that it is, what are these consumers that are buying systems for their "family" buying instead? Because they are not buying WIi Us.  My point is if ninty isnt doing something like the WIi then there consoles arent really moving.

I can agree with that. But they dont need to be a market leader, they just need to continue to make a profit. This gen may be lost to them like gamecube was. But once kids start looking at more bad stuff on tablets and smart phones, once parents see what their kids can get into and what kind of money they can spend I think they will go back to nintendo. Apple, Sony, Microsoft, all the big computer/cell phone/ tablet companies cant lock out all the bad stuff like nintendo can. Its for that reason that i think nintendo will be a hardware maker for a ong time. I could be wrong. I think that tablets and cell phones have impacted nintendo more than sony or ms. I wouldn't be suprised though if the next nintedno hand held and home console get merged into one device to better compete with cell phone and tables.

"bad stuff" it depends on what you define as "bad" and the "bad" doesnt outweigh the good. Here's the thing, kids do like these "bad" things no matter what some here will tell you. Its not just people over the age of 18 playing COD and GTA, some parents believe their kids could handle it, hell some just dont even care as long as it keeps their brat occupied for a few hours. ANd even then come on, its not like these systems dont have ways to block out certain content. On PS systems you could make seperate accounts and on those accounts you could make it so certain content is not being able to be used. I promise you people value having options on THEIR terms rather than Ninty trying to "protect" people much more. Which is one of the reasons its struggling right now.

I laugh at those who say Nintendo's not in the position to attack anyone. Sega wasn't in position to attack Nintendo in the 90's, were they? They found the one thing Genesis did better, processing speed, and hammered the SNES for being slower. The SNES being better at everything else didn't matter.

Nintendo should go for the throat in advertising, because the west eats that shit up, they won't though, because they pander to Japan.

Remember how popular Sony got when they attacked MS at E3 for all their awful policies. Why didn't Nintendo do that? They weren't blocking used games and forcing people to be always online. They should have taken some potshots at the competition while they had the chance. Make fun of Microsoft shoving Kinect down everyone's throats, or Sony for the PS4 having online subscriptions

Now I know what some of you are thinking, Nintendo is too mature to restort to these childish insults! Well the competition isn't, and being the bigger man isn't exactly helping them. Sony and MS don't take Nintendo seriously, most game journalists don't even know what the WiiU is. It's time to fix this. Get mean Nintendo.

Attack ad with bolded example "Come to wiiU, where everything is free!"

Rebuddle: "At least we have an online infasrtucture."

Why they haven't done it...
