Forums - Gaming - Will PS4 x X1 graphical difference dissapear?

Yep, the power gap will vanish. MS will improve sdk while Sony will stick to the initial one as it doesnt need improvement. I cant wait for the truth to come out.

Ask MisterXMedia, a year or 2 from now the xbox1 will have twice the graphical power of the ps4. And that guy is the reference. He's always right and accurate.

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic or serious in your first statement.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

while the xbone has official DX12 support it will help short term but ultimately anything that can be done with dx12 on the xbone can be done on PS4. Of course official DX12 support makes certain things easier.

But as PS4 has more horsepower no ifs ands or buts it will never fully dissapear. eventually all games on both systems could hit 1080p 60fps locked. at that point its all about IQ.

Sweet Jesus. How many times must we do this. 1+1 will never equal 3. Moving on.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Just logically think about it.

They both have similar architectures. The PS4 specs are better, therefore it will always have an advantage.

The X1 cant magically get better performance than the PS4. The only thing i'd see Microsoft doing is trying to force 3rd parties to have parity n both versions if they want to release it on the X1. Though that is a very risky tactic.

The Gap will widen.
Just wait 2-3 years when GPGPU compute will become a standard PS4 programing practice...

This. People seem to forget (or are unaware of the fact) that PS4's to XOne's GPU difference is not only in shaders/TMUs/ROPs, but in much, much better asynchronous compute capabilites as well.

The lack of X1 1080p is a pure software problem since (simplified explanation) the ESRAM was considered to be too small to render 1080p because the data did not fit inside. But the new SDK allows to use this memory much more efficiently by streaming only needed data from the main memory into the ultra fast ESRAM. So 1080p can and will be standard in future X1 games.

The PS4 is still much stronger and Sony will improve their SDK also.

Next well announce a new SDK for 360 that is better than PS4 and you don't even need a One.

New software technology that grows new silicon on demand, it's amazing!

Short answer: no.

For games that have lower hardware demands, there won't be any differences visually, but that's not really what this thread is about now, is it.

Acceptance is the first step required to move on.

I own infamous and on my 60" plasma it is a great looking game, but it isn't amazing. There are some great lighting effects, but it can't keep a steady framerate. Take a ride on the monorail, infamous1 & 2 had a steadier framerate than second son. I think it would have been better if Sucker Punch just locked the framerate at 30 and left it alone.

Honestly the only game to "wow" me so far has been Ryse. We all know the framerate is slow, but at least its pretty steady 99% of the time and certain scenes on that game are incredible. Killzone is also a game that looks amazing in parts and keeps a steady framerate.

Only time will truly tell if we have a noticeable persistent gap in games in the future. Launch games never are a good indication of a system's true potential.

So a 900p linear game with frame drops in the teens is better than a game that is 1080p open world that maintains framerates above 30fps for 98% of the game with multiple lighting effects? Nope not even close.

The gap will stay the game or just get bigger. Don't get me wrong, the XBO will improve, but the PS4 will not just stay stagnant.
