will let UC4 speak for itself. no one stays anywhere long in the software biz if the opportunities you want are not available. probs creative differences so he left.

Its a new generation and many of the developing company's are still making the same franchises, If similar wages are being offered elsewhere then you can't blame developers leaving to try something new.
A lot of new and different I.P's will be in the pipeline for many studios which will be enticing developers to come and go, this will also be an ideal time for a company like Sony to restructure.

Think he is saying Sony is poor
Riot in an excellent company right now and there is indeed innovative stuff going on (Cloud AI, one of the best matchmaking system, ...).
I don't think it will change a lot for uncharted, as it's an established serie and the rest of the staff is still there.
And it's important for game designer to move instead of doing the same games with the same people over and over.

With a ton of JRPG support still coming for PS3, i'll have more then enough to play on that platform. The future looks very dim right now for Sony's 1st party line up.. |
tbh every game has its peak. even if uncharted 4 is a 75-80 game (which I highly doubt it will be), another exclusive will lead the lineup for PS4 in the 90+ meta category.
I'm curious as to why they are leaving, but theres nothing to suggest that them leaving is 'not looking good'. Sometimes its better for studios and its staff to mutually agree to terminate or not renew a contract.
I have no idea who this guy is, but I remember amy hennig from the uncharted making of videos and just from that you can tell how much influence she had on the greatness of the story. But again, there is nothing to suggest that they dont have backup which is equally or even more capable.

Sony's most acclaimed studio going through some obvious turmoil, DriveClub's problematic development, major restructuring of WWS, and generally being very quiet about any upcoming AAA games except for The Order... seems pretty easy to see why some people wouldn't be excited about first party output in the foreseeable future. |
THen yes that makes sense...but I would atleast wait until maybe E3 before making that judgement. They might FINALLY be keeping everything hush about games they have going on instead of making all leaks like before. Time will tell though.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

so bungie is talentless?
Haven't a lot of employees from ND been leaving the company for a long while now? I remember last year a few studios hiring ND devs, Retro among them.

You're the one turning this into a bad or good news thing. He mearly said he wasn't fired. Comes back to that whole reading thing.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
