damn 2 AC games for next gen ?

Kinda strange how regarding to next-gen it says 'Playstation 4 and other next-generation consoles'.

Look at it this way. If they would make this last gen exclusive, I'm sure.they would piss off people who sold their last gen consoles etc. but still  want to play this game. It will most likely just be an AC4 scenario, an upscaled last gen game with a stable framerate, while Unity is a full fledged next gen game.

Two AC games in one year, you say? Somehow I find this less than reliable.

If true I'll probably go for Wii U version, and get Unity on PS4 (assuming I've bothered to get one by then)

This is likely true, two games was already known. I wonder how different it is from Unity?

they could've ported it later on next gen consoles and release it during another time of the year (see AC Liberation HD) or hell just release it the next year during the holidays and give the next AC game an additional year dev time.
They're splitting their own fanbase. Next to no one would buy both games this holiday season, even fans so they're going to miss out on revenue and more important they're going to have twice the dev costs but won't sell much more than one release.

And honestly, selling the last gen console is a big mistake especially when there's no backwards compatibility. That's something one could've learned from last gen.

They haven't abandoned it officially. Not yet...
