Halo 3 overall. Halo 4 campaign was okay at best and the multiplayer made me feel like I was playing a CoD clone. Halo 2 had one of the best campaigns. Halo CE had the best campaign and one of the best multiplayers. Reach butchered the Halo lore and had okay mutliplayer. ODST had amazing campaign.

Halo Reach was the FURTHEST thing from balanced and had nothing but BS perks. Armor Lock and that horrible DMR bloom broke the game dude.

Derp. I meant kill streaks. -_-

What was wrong with the DMR?

Ordnances are not Kill Streaks. KS gets you rewards for not dying. You get Ordnance after a certain amount of points no matter if you die or not.

The bloom on the DMR in reach was shit. Which is why it was great when 343 brought in Zero Bloom Slayer.

Again, not played the game so I'll take your word for it.

As for the bloom, never had a problem with it in Reach. Taking a little time to place shots isn't a game breaker. In fact it encourages players to be more accurate with the rifle (a good thing tbh), especially when going after headshots. It's already powerful weapon. Having perfect accuracy, with little to no reticule adjustment would make it quite simply, OP. In Reach you tell if a person is a good player, from a bad one just by watching them play; how often they shoot, and how accurate they are. Good players kill, others spam.

Halo 2 is my favorite multiplayer game of all time. My favorite Halo campaign is ODST. The music and atmosphere in that game was incredible.

4 had my favorite campaign, but fell short on the multiplayer side.

Combat Evolved and 2 hold the closest spot in my heart. I played both those games for years on end and never got tired of them. I suppose if I had to pick between the two, I'd have to give it to Halo 2.

Halo 3 is easily the best one. I was disappointed by 4 so hopefully the Halo game for Xbox One returns to greatness!

With 343 Industries at the reigns of Halo 5 (and no Bungie), I highly doubt that.

343 has already said that they've made mistakes and that they have to improve. Halo 4 was their first big game and it was great for what it was, fantastic campaign with a good multiplayer. Bungie hasn't made a good Halo since 3. Halo Reach had shitty multiplayer and completely said fuck the book already written about the fall of reach. ODST was a BS campaign with Firefight as the highlight. Don't put Bungie on a pedastal when they're the ones that sent Halo into this directon. 343 is reviving it.

Correct and if you have been looking at their twitter accounts they have been constantly asking fans abou the mistakes and improving upon them which is a good thing as they respect the fans and want next game to be a balance between what fans want and what today shooters bring to the table.

I like halo 2 the least besides the shitastic ODST which was an anal abortion. I think I enjoyed Reach the most out of all halos, but for this thread, halo 4 was just great for me all the way around, the Prometheans were better foes than the flood in my opinion. To not spoil the end, I will say, it may be a little  different for now on.

Combat Evolved is my number one. I still consider it the best first-person shooter ever made.

Needless to say, picking one game over the others is not an easy task. They all have their strong aspects while only a few have shortcomings. Meaning that even a game ranked last of the bunch from a certain point of view still doesn't necessarily lack in that area; the others just do it even better. (A very good example of this would be the music.)

Still, I'll have to give my vote to Halo: CE for bringing all of the series' key components, an excellent story and immersion unlike anything else at the time.
