Both were released on a Friday in UK. Why don't you guys seem to realize this?

Because, not being in the UK, we forget that
Anyway i'd wait until more time has passed before drawing conclusions because Infamous is still kicking ass in Amazon UK, and the infamous bundle is doing a lot better than the TF bundle.
This talk of percentages is very fishy. In reality this correspond to just a few thousand. I am sure infamous will overtake titanfall sales eventually, but overall it doesnt matter. Across europe infamous will have sold more i'm sure.
This singular focus on the UK motivated by Microsoft makes little sense. Its a small market by itself and not relevant without the rest of europe.
Well I did that on GAF but here you go...
TF Week 1: ~122k (~114k XBO + ~8k PC)
ISS Week 1: ~70-80k (my right guess math was 77k but it can be lower or a little high)
XBO LTD: ~500k
PS4 LTD: ~700k
The PS4 sales is the one with the biggest % margin error due the 9:1 ratio.
BTW using only the 2013 number you have:
ISS: 60k minimum
TF: 92k minimum
So were they comparing Titanfall's first week to Infamous's first 3 days?

Both are two days in UK.
d21lewis said: I've never understood the rivalry between Titan Fall and inFamous. From sales to reviews to graphics, everybody feels the need to compare these games. It's like comparing Little Big Planet to Gears. They have nothing in common aside from being big titles. The obsession with Titanfall by Sony fans and inFamous by Xbox fans is crazy. I think it's just sexual tension. |
Yep, it's gotten really tiresome. Two very different types of games with prospective consumer bases that will only partially overlap. I don't really get the desire to keep comparing the two over and over.
I'll be glad when the library of both devices has expanded enough that we're not repeating these hyperactive comparisons simply because two games release relatively close to one another.
On topic, I'm not even slightly surprised. Titanfall might be a new IP but FPS is by far the most popular and lucrative genre in the west and it had the backing of a massive advertising campaign. Both games seemed to have performed well, which is good for the industry.
Only twoo:won ? compared to an exclusive of a open world game? Man, EA must be absolutely pissed right now. So much for the next "COD"

Titanfall will be the next call of Doodey for sure
Ms better scoop this game Ip up before it goes multiplatform!
