Yep, it's gotten really tiresome.  Two very different types of games with prospective consumer bases that will only partially overlap.  I don't really get the desire to keep comparing the two over and over.

I'll be glad when the library of both devices has expanded enough that we're not repeating these hyperactive comparisons simply because two games release relatively close to one another.  

On topic, I'm not even slightly surprised.  Titanfall might be a new IP but FPS is by far the most popular and lucrative genre in the west and it had the backing of a massive advertising campaign.  Both games seemed to have performed well, which is good for the industry.
