Forums - Sony - The Current Problem With The PS4

PSN Plus cannot give away major free games on the PS4 just yet. It just started and this guy expects it to run the same as it does on the PS3. There is a wider library on that platform. MS has been paying everyone for their games to bolster their launch. Titanfall doesn't define the Xbox One. It will be multiplat. Sony has InFamous and Killzone and if that isn't enough for now, just go to Microsoft until something else comes. Eventually Sony will still have more, but just go to where Titanfall is. As I've said before, Sony gives you what they have and they try to fill in the gaps. Microsoft gets other peoples games and plays around with your perception. If you think Titanfall defines the Xbox One, my point has already been proven about their marketing schemes.

If you ask my kids, they think so.  They ask me to buy it every time we walk buy video games in a store.  They really like the Marvel Lego game we bought at the XB1's launch.

Is Minecraft triple A?  Kids like that too.  How about Angry Birds?

There seems to be a lot of confusion about what that phrase actually means.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

The PS4 has more exclusives coming in april with FFXIV:ARR and DW8:XL. (on sony platforms, but if Titanfall is considered an exclusive, so are these) Might not appeal to everyone, but its better than the offering the competitors have for april and most of may, wich is nothing.

I left this kind of feedback when i bought my PS4, but its hardly anything that is singular to the PS4. X1 and even the Wii U still have some significant droughts. Its not because the X1 has one more exclusive at the moment that it somehow doesnt have the same problem.

That logic is always going to be flawed.  If only a certain group of gamers get to determine what a AAA(cost lots of money to be made) or "really good" game is, then we have to define who makes it into that group.

AAA to a 6-12 yr old is completely different than that to a 15-50 yr old person.  Heck, inside the 15-50 yr old group it will break down into 2-4 groups.

I think the Lego games are lower tier AAA games.  THey are generally released on all platforms and have decent budgets and are well advertised while licensing large name properties to be based upon.

It is near the end of the end....

Yea, that AAA term means different things to different people. Minecraft is surely bigger than most games though with 35 million copies sold. Also Angry Birds is triple A according to wikipedia.

The system is only 4 months old. It´s quite rare for a system 4 months into its life to already have a great lineup of exclusives.

I remember it was the same with the PS2...getting one at launch in October 2000 and after playing enough of Tekken and Ridge Racer, waiting till March for the first real great game (imo), which was Onimusha.

There´s absolutely nothing new about the scenario.Any console veteran knows that.

People who buy consoles at launch and then bitch about a lack of games are the dumbest people of all. You knew perfectly well that previously unknown AAA games weren't going to suddenly materialize and you bought it anyway, so go fuck yourself forever.

He has some very valid points. But to be honest they are kind of mute at the same time. Like he said the PS4 has seen many triple A games released and it has plenty of games to play at the moment. I mean no console REALLY gets big AAA exclusives back to back to back in the first 4 or 5 freaking months. 2 or 3 at launch then maybe 1 or 2 more the following 5-6 months. Then they start to pick up after that maybe a year or 2 in.

Luckily this time around there are lots of Multi-plats to play plus some good exclusive games depending on what you prefer. For instance for KZ:SF and Infamous: SS are more than enough reason to pick up a PS4 seeing as I am a huge fan of both games. Then the article downs games that are Sony exclusive and cross-platform but mentions Titanfall(which is a great game by the way). So it is fine for one system and not the other...come on son lol. You can't bring the competition into at the start of you article then say it is not about the competition lol.

Lastly if any company has proven that they produce AAA exclusives for their system then it is Sony. They have a long rack record of it and the PS3 getting games like TLOU, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6 etc this late in the generation are proof of that. And have already announced The Order 1886 and the next Uncharted. Plus Driveclub is about to release as well.

Final thought I think that the person who wrote this article just jumped the gun kind of early. Or is just not interested in the current exclusives which is fine but makes a person wonder why you got the PS4 if you are not interested int eh current exclusives? It would have made more sense to wait on the purchase but I guess not. I could understand if the system had been out already over a year and that was it but it hasn't. So no worries just to early to speak on things of this nature.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

If you buy a console at launch, then be prepared for some droughts. The PS2 didn't get a worthwhile library until over a year in, took the PS3 until 2009 or so.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
