Hard to moneyhat without the money.

Thats why creativity and self sufficient development matters. :)

lol xD
All I'm seeing is, it's okay for one company to "moneyhat" while the other get's crucified; them double standards.

That's exactly what it is. Or even when Sony does something he used to bitch about MS doing, like money hatting, or charging for online play, it's MS's fault. It's cute to read.

No one ever said that. Sony actually puts forth far more on a first party core front than Microsoft, hence why when you look at their internal offerings its not even equal. They pay to keep equal with Sony, especially for this launch. Take away third party exclusive games away and they would've been in deep shit.

That makes me very very happy, I am hoping for real horror games, good indies, solid RPGs and nice strategy games. Here´s to hoping! =D

I'm pretty confident that Microsoft will have each of those on the Xbox One within a year or two.

Horror, we already know that a State of Decay MMO is planned for Xbox One, and there are rumors of Resident Evil 7 and/or Resident Evil 4 HD exclusively on Xbox One. There will also be plenty of multiplat horror games, Dying Light, The Evil Within, DayZ devs are talking about brining it to Xbox One, Outlast devs are considering bringing it to Xbox One.

Indie support is coming out the ying-yang, Microsoft has announced that 250 indie developers already have Xbox One dev kits and are developing indie games, and that over 1000 total have signed up for the program (so over 750 are on the waiting list). Phil Spencer also mentioned during his fireside chat today at GDC that Microsoft will be funding some larger indie games, some of which will be announced at E3 this year.

RPG's, we've got Fable Legend announced already, and we know that Microsoft has several Japanese games in development and given the popularity of JRPG's in Japan it's likely that at least one of those JRPG's. We know that Bioware is working on a new Star Wars RPG and given Microsoft's history with the KOTOR series and EA's recent willingness to sign deals with Microsoft, we could see some kind of partnership for this new RPG (at least exclusive content or timed DLC). Then there are the multiplat RPG's coming to Xbox One, ranging from AAA's like Witcher 3, FinaL Fnatasy, and Dragon Age Inquisition, to downloadable and indie RPG's like Child of Light and Cosmic Star Heroine.

Strategy games is the iffiest one, but it could still happen. We know of one indie strategy game coming to Xbox One called There Came an Echo. Microsoft recently mentioned that they're working on Age of series concept work, and if a new Age of game gets greenlit I could see it coming to both PC and Xbox One. There's also the possibiltiy of another Halo Wars, Phil Spencer mentioned that they're considering branching Halo out into other genres again and Halo Wars sold well. At the very least I'm sure that Xbox One will see some multiplat strategy games, Tropico 6 at least should come to Xbox One, assuming that 5 doesn't come to Xbox One at some point.

If Microsoft shows an ounce of creativity this generation in first party I would truly be surprised. RPG's aside. They'll probably pay Sakaguchi to be creative for them though.

Didn't Sony pay for Quantic Dream games? Ready at Dawn? Insomniac?

Those are all second party partners. All are in line to become first party eventually. Well Insomniac wasn't up to snuff, but Microsoft was STILL oh so happy to have a Sony affiliated developer making a game for them weren't they? Even Microsofts actions show the quality Sony offers.

I think there will be plenty of 1st party creativity this generation. Take their newest 1st party studio for instance, Leap Experience Pioneers, their mission goal is to make creative games that pioneer new territory. Microsoft has kept them largely secret for 2 years, I'm sure they're cooking up some pretty awesome stuff.

......sure. I'll take your word for it. It's their third generation. So far their movements are just as predictable as the last. Lets hope you're belief outweighs the symptoms of their track record.

Just like when Sony got all hyped for Destiny that they passed the game at their presentation to be an exclusive right?

I predict that on E3 both companies will show off their best games and features and gamers from both sides will rejoice. Microsoft will probably show off the best they have in 90 minutes. But Sony has built quite a momentum since last year, and they would be fools to let it die. That's my take.
