Eh, most motion controls are great under certain situations.  They just dont work that well for traditonal gaming.  Its basically a different genre of game.

I feel that they will probably be a fad or a niche product. I don't see them ever going super mainstream.

I'd like to believe, but the fact that nobody wants to announce a price or ship date tells me it isn't actually ready yet.

It doesn't help that Sony wants to tie it in with all their other half-baked, poorly-supported peripherals. If they really believed in VR, the PS4 would have shipped with it.

I gotta be honest. I'm more excited for illumiroom tech.

The concept is really great so i think it could be successful in long term ,in shor term it will not be successful due to the high price



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

It won't bomb per se, but it will remain niche until it gets considerably better. These VR headsets are kind of a joke, really. It's not virtual reality, it's a new way to play first person that fills the field of view. It's somewhat immersive, but the point of VR is to utterly blow your mind with immersion so that it can't tell the difference from reality, and we're decades away from that. True VR will probably happen withing most of our lifetimes though, and then there will be no turning back. Other games will still exist, but once true VR becomes a thing, it'll be its own industry.
