If infamous gets a high meta score.. It will sell a lot..... The last of us is over 6 million.. Who expected that??

Apples and oranges. Second Son is the 3rd game in a franchise that has never set the charts on fire. I doubt it would be getting much attention if it wasn't the only notable PS4 game coming out soon.

The Last of Us is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time and just having the Naughty Dog name on the box can sell a game these days after the success of Uncharted. Just like anything Bungie makes will sell millions because of Halo.

Just to be fair,Infamous 2 had his legs cut thank to the PSN hack. But yeah i think Infamous ss will sell 3 million for now and if sony makes bundles to hollyday/black friday then 4 millions is a possibility.

3M tops.

Pre-ordered my inFamous bundle today. How ironic, when I bought PS3 inFamous was newly released and came bundled with PS3. I didn't even want it, but the alternative was Ghostbusters, so inFamous it was. It sat there not getting played while I enjoyed the shit out of Valkyria Chronicles and Uncharted. And now I'm buyin PS4 so early in the generation because I don't want to wait to play inFamous.

Also, the price I paid for PS3 is almost the same as the price I'm paying for PS4.

Dodd has downgrade to the most pathetic PS4 fanboy.

He is a nobody, he has no inside knolage from any major player. His posts are just wishifull thinking and FUDs with no basis.

And your post isn't wishful thinking and FUD with no basis?

The day you see me posting that I have classified intel from inside any major game company, you can call me out.

Dodd has been posing as a greater insider, but think a little, how this nobody would know what giants like EA and others are thinking? He does a stupid youtube counting, I thing that had appered here a few days ago, and then this is "news"...

Sorry if I am septical.

"Sony also used it’s own metrics in a meeting with EA last week and showed them what they would have sold on the ps3 and ps4. The money EA took from MS doesn’t even begin to cover it. The EA guys went over the math and agreed. EA is in full ‘We’re so f**king sorry, Sony’ mode currently.”

This feels like bullshit to me honestly.

Famousmortimer isn't exactly known for his evenhandedness. I prefer Sony consoles and I still don't like him.

Also, "social metrics"? Really? Why not something actually relevant, like better pre-order numbers or something?

I mean... social metrics are valuable... but you have to know how to read them.

Compairing one youtube video vs another is silly... really you'd want to do a far bigger spread of videos.  Since one video if directed to heavily can be inflated quite a bit.

Additionally Social Metrics are going to depend on your audience.  For example a lot of cult and critically acclaimed TV show's far beat more popular shows in twitter presense.

Generally this is why social metrics are usually measured vs itself.  How are the social metrics improving over time?  What's the Audience Growth Rate?   What percentage of people who tweeted about our product 2 weeks ago are tweeting now that we released a new video... etc.

I could see EA apologizing for Titanfall not being on Playstation too... but that's just good buisiness.  It's not like EA is going going to go in there both middle fingers blazing like stone cold steve austin and tell Sony to fuck themselves... even if the deal was best for them.

Part of maintaining good relations is being willing to apologize for some shit you shouldn't have to if somebody is upset about it.

6 million on a (let say) 6.4 million install base?

LTD possibly, I doubt for the year though; Playstation Audience is too diversified for close ove 90% adoption, they'd have to give it away for free and that's very implausible.

Multiplayer tends to outleg Single Player for because Single Player loses value faster, especially in this market.

We'll have to see.

this day in age there is far more sony fans than ms fans. this site alone on a regular basis on poll ps4 vs xbox 1 threads are always lop sided with ps4 getting like 200+ votes and xbox one getting around 50.

infamous is the game sony fans have to support and titan fall for xbox, it's obvious were the social metric will lean before looking.

Its not that black and white, but right now TitanFall and Infamous are the only counters that exists currently for these two competing platforms, it used to be KZ:SF vs Ryse, but now its Gameplay vs Gameplay, rather than Graphics Vs Graphics

Its also obvious why Playstation is more popular than Xbox right now.

Meh on second son info.

EA deal was based on an estimation that XBO and PS4 would be similar in sells and X360 owns NA where FPS dominates. It was a safe risk to make and ask for $$$ cash to cover the assumed range of PS sales.

That's a risk every company makes with exclusives. Unfortunately EA drank the MS cool-aid and that shit had a bad aftertaste. Now PS4 is dominating world-wide and while Titanfall will surely do well and be profitable, EA realizes they could have made significantly more by making it non-exclusive.

All this will do in the long run is prevent anyone from really wanting to go exclusive, especially on MS hardware. However, if PS4 keeps selling at this near-Wii and PS2 pace while Wii U and XBO stagnate, expect to see 3rd parties overwhelmingly willing to go exclusive on PS4 over the next few years.

This coming holiday will likely seal that fate.

EA could always do what capcom did to Nintendo during the gamecube era with its "exclusive" games and decide its better to break the contract and sell thier games on competing hardware.

If EA broke the contract, they would make the money lost by the suit in about a week worst case scenario.

I think the PR would be more damaging in this day and age, but then again EA has been voted worst company in america twice in a row.
