New wii u games coming out, 3ds outselling everything and they just bought a new building for development yeah once again nintendo is doomed

The cost of production for 3ds and Wii u are only going down, and Wii u sales (especially software) are higher than last year I believe. Combined with less need for marketing the 3ds because of consumer awareness already bring present and I think Nintendo won't lose as much money next time if not profit.

Quite controversially I think what is actually keeping Nintendo from having their deep pockets decimated right now is actually the humble Wii. They barely touch the hardware right now, but with 366,860 software units being sold this week alone, they must still be making a good amount on software royalties and sales of their first party games. The hardship now for Nintendo is trying to make the WiiU as close to profitable as they can in the next year or two before Wii and DS software sales dry up. The WiiU was not as financially disastrous for Nintendo as it could have been because it launched on the back of the still very profitable Wii, but the next Nintendo console will be relying on the WiiU to soften the launch costs, so if the WiiU is still selling at a loss, Nintendo has some tough choices to make.

Doubt it. It's sales pales in comparision with their other handhelds.

3DS hardware sales will not keep Nintendo afloat alone, but as part of the overall picture it will do OK.

What I imagine will happen is that Nintendo will subsist on their cash reserves for a year to a year and a half before the 3DS starts to support Nintendo via software sales. The Wii U will continue to accrue software and hardware sales until it breaks even between two and three years from now, more or less as Nintendo EOL's it.

A year and a half of strong losses (and maybe a bit more) will be counterbalanced by four years of modest profits. Gen 8 will make for an overall profit for Nintendo, albeit a small one. Lean times for the big N, but not the end of the world.

3DS is selling a lot, competition is not very strong, they have 3rd party support and they have strong 1st party, they can continue for years with slower obsolescence... on long term that's even a better business than Wii was. Also handled console market has many times rebound and made huge profit with a single game like monster hunter or Pokemon, so they have a lot of chances to take higher profits.
It could be enough to make a profit overall, enough to finance Wii U... and in the worst (and far away) case will be enough for Nintendo to continue on 3DS only.

Sony will be fine, but the big question here is why would u try to bring up a Sony issue in a Nintendo thread?  Insecure much?  ;)
