I think automatic drift is better here than manual, I am driving faster with automatic atleast, because the drifting is hard with the wheel

Unless you have a boost... I am definately faster through there on time trials than I am going normally. but then Maple Treeway is one of my poorest tracks. (I still beat your latest time though )

In a race it isn't much use though... although I have used it because if you go up there you go to almost last place, pick up a cool power up then use the two boost pads to be back in 3rdish by the cannon.

Time Trial shortcuts are good to know, and racing in Time Trials will greatly improve your racing abilities. But most shortcuts are only doable with 150CC, and a boost, so they are nice to get a comeback with if you are like last place or so.

If you drive 1-2nd place, your Time Trial experience will help you a lot (drifting, wheelies etc..), but the shortcuts usually won't.

Actually, that shortcut on Maple Treeway is awesome.

I found it on my first trip there, but didn't understand how to use it. Now, I have learned that if you come from the left and slide in, release your boost, and wheelie, the mud doesn't really stop you at all. As the rest of the track is shorter, and with boosts, it can save you 2-3 seconds!

On the 1st lap, you should only slide, as that will normally make you get a 10th place (or so) item, and end out in the tunnel at 2nd or 3rd (rarely first).

If you recieved a golden mushroom, you've almost won the race already.

quick question when you play MK:wii online does it download other people's mii? For some reason I went to my mii channel and had 434+ mii in my parade 0_o

Don't think so. It only downloads the ghost staff data, not the mii afaik
