There is a fairly large range where you can hit the gas button, but if you hit it late, you get a smaller boost.

The way I do it, is when the 2 is showing and the Lakitu is raising his hand, when his hand gets to ~11 o'clock, I hit the button.

I just realise that I don't have mario kart wii and I will not be able to buy it until chrismas.

^ How do you just realize this? Btw, is using the Wii wheel for the wheelie worth it? I use classic because I feel it's much easier, but I'm wondering how good the wheelie is. Also, why is it so hard to beat computers now .

Yay, competitions have started! Golden Coins of Delfino Plaza are darn hard. I never seem to get them all.

Got this game on Monday, played it on Wednesday. Fantastic game, although it kind of bruises my ego: I can beat everything on F-Zero GX at maximum difficulty, but I can barely get first on 50cc. I'm really glad I picked this up, even if I can't play it for a few weeks.

I have trouble getting a star ranking, or A for that matter. Rainbow Road is hard, I keep falling off...
