Show me the proof that it's real (hint, there aren't any). It's really funny that you insist it's real after I told you it was clickbait.

this is a site saying square said something. no link to an oficial source BECAUSE THERE IS NONE.

http://www.gengame.net/2013/06/kingdom-hearts-iii-and-final-fantasy-xv-cant-be-easily-ported-to-wii-u/

http://www.gamnesia.com/news/reason-for-final-fantasy-xv-and-kingdom-hearts-iii-not-coming-to-wii-u#.UyI7Db-yjUU

It was revealed in a Q&A session with Square Enix.

My dear, you can make this so much simpler. WHERE IS THE SOURCE? there isn't one. and even if you believed that crap, we all know wii u uses the open gl equivalent of dx 11, just like ps4.

Square Enix has revealed exactly why the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV won’t be coming to the platform. The development studio says that both games won’t be coming to Wii U as they use DirectX 11 which isn’t compatible with the console. The team said that Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 is being developed using DirectX 11, so porting between Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One would be easy .

You consider that clickbait? Square Enix explaining exactly why these games won't come to WiiU is clickbait now? Go ahead and show me proof that this is fake if you really believe that.

Thing is, PS4 doesn't run Direct X, it uses OpenGL, just like WiiU (which, after a quick search, seems to run an OpenGL version capable of DirectX-like effects), so it's a bullshit reason anyway. That said, I don't expect the 2 games to come to WiiU either way.

don't worry, it's not a BS reason because square didn't say a thing. it's just clickbait.

But both consoles are capable of DX11+ features. The Wii U isn't.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/09/developer_interview_black_forest_games_on_bringing_giana_sisters_twisted_dreams_to_wii_u

"NL: What are your overall thoughts on the system and its concept so far?

Johannes Conradie: On the tech side, having DX11 level features is pretty useful, which makes large parts of the system compatible with our other platforms. Overall the hardware itself is slightly faster than the other current-gen consoles. One very nice advantage the console has is the additional usable memory you have. Having that extra memory made development much easier compared to other current-gen platforms."

Conclusion: It is.

Oh right. Like a 5770 is DX11 compatible. But trigger every DX11 features when runing any games, like tressfx, tesselation, advanced lighting and post processing effects, and let's see if you'll still believe this is DX 11 capable.

Might work well for some simpler games at sub-HD resolution, but you won't have much success with bigger games. Even at 720p with most effects and graphics settings set to low.

Zero is good for the derail!

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

and the relevancy of what a raw 5770 does or does not  in a PC is...?

The relevency is that the 5770 is more advanced than the 5550, on which the Wii U's GPU is based on. It's more than twice as capable as the 5550, in fact, and still struggles to run DX11 intensive games even when it runs in tandem with components that are well above what's inside the Wii U. So, despite it being able to use DX11 features, the end result is very limited.

The point is that despite the Wii U having access to those features, the low energy profile architecture it uses and the overall weak components that's inside the console makes it very unlikely we'll ever see any games use those features extensively. No complex games such as FF XV, The Witcher 3 or inFamous SS, that's for sure.

you are making up the information that the wii u gpu is based on a 5550. you are also not pointing that inside a video game, the gpu performs much better. look at the ps360 gpus, wich are far less advanced but hold their own against some gpus that came out later.

66% market share this week in Japan belong to Sony ? Holy fucking cow :v

Media Create is always my favourite thread of the week. Stop derailing it with stuff that isn't about Japanese sales. Now. Or else!

(But seriously, this is an informal warning. There are other threads to discuss WiiU capabilities. This is not the one. Any more discussion will be moderated for being off-topic)
