PC then handheld and then console, and this is coincidentally the order in which I started gaming, I guess nostalgia kinda plays a role in this.
I've never purchased a handheld after the Gameboy Advance SP, but I do borrow them to play certain games occasionally.

what are you playing on ps4? |
NBA 2K14, Resogun, Don't Starve every now and then, and Infamous in 12 days. I played the Killzone multiplayer for a bit and will probably start Dead Nation next week. I have midterms and exams in the next few days so I've had to scale back on my gaming.
Handhelds.
I sit all day at work, when I get home I don't feel like sitting again for hours, so instead I just lay down on the couch or the bed and play on a handheld :)
And that's partly why I like the Wii U gamepad.
Both. Whenever I'm at home or on the road for my go-kart races or anywhere else, handhelds are great to play. Whenever I'm at home or if I take the home console with me to a relative's house, the home consoles are great to play. Either way, I'd take both.
While I'd like to claim I prefer home consoles, particularly as most of my favourite games, (maybe as many as 90%), are on home consoles, namely the PS3 and Dreamcast. That said I find myself reaching for my Vita before anything else and I've completed more 3DS games as of late than any other system. Pokèmon Y, Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Plants VS Zombies, and soon more... that's all in the last 6 months. My completed console games for this year though are conversely at zero. I've played plenty, completed nothing. That I think speaks volumes. Even when I do want to play console games it's usually PSOne or 6th Gen games like Final Fantasy VII, Ninja Gaiden, Jak & Daxter, and more ported onto the Vita. Even when I am playing a console it's the Wii U, largely because of the gamepad.

Ever play Mario Kart on handheld while driving a Go-Kart in real life? Kartception. :P
I love my Nintendo handhelds, but I prefer Playstation/Nintendo home consoles.
