What does refurbished mean anyways?

It's a used unit. The company makes it all clean/sparkly while making sure it works.

It's a label they slap on used consoles that they pretend to have checked so that they can sell it for a higher price again.

I've had my refurbished PS3 for about 4 years now. It might be a little more noisy than when I first got it, it is still a very silent hum you only hear if you're gaming in the dead of the night in a quiet house. That's the only "problem" it has.. and that could probably be solved if I took an air can to it, which I haven't done in far too long. 160GB HDD full of movies, music and pictures. So not sure what you mean by this... but I hope you understand it is kinda wrong and stinks of hate for no reason other than to hate. Why do you hate refurbished consoles? Did you have a bad experience?

I don't hate refurbished, I just don't buy used stuff. To me it makes absolutely no difference if a product is "refurbished" or just used.

The former sounds better so people are willing to pay more money for it. I think it's just silly because there is virtually no difference between a well maintained used console and a refurbished one.

I personally think this is a good deal especially since it come with 1 year warranty. I do not trust refurbish products from anyone but the people who make the product. I bought a Playstion 3 refurbish from a store and when I got home it would stop work after 2 hours. I think if I had bought a refurbish one from Sony it would of work, but the store I bought it from probably just lied, so this is why I say its a good deal because you getting it from the actual people who make the system instead of some store who sell all types of products. 

it's a pre owned console, there is no difference between this and another pre owned console sold in a game shop

they do all the basic checks and nothing else

Ill just wait till next year when they are $199 before BF deals so that I can stack my 15% off at target. I will ptobably only play Zelda anyway.
