its a good controller, need 2 though as they won't last long,
the speaker has a volume control doesn't it so you can turn it down oldschool

they'll use the touch pad well i think for games,it was useful for FFXIV menus when i worked it out and the speaker should be good for some horror games to give you a jump if they wanted,be or to use as a radio/walkie talkie in games or tape messages like in shadowfall

Touchpad: Good use in Killzone, but it really needs to be used in the browser. Hopefully Tropico 5 will make good use of it.

Speaker: It's a fun addition, only not loud enough when I have the sound turned up. I does make me pay more attention to the voice recordings you find in games.

Lightbar: Hate it, I play in darkness and it floods the screen in Outlast, wish I could turn it off.

I like everything except the light bar. It kills the battery and I just want to get those stickers that covers almost every part of the light. The speakers are pretty cool when used in game and I love the touchpad especially how they used it in killzone for the drone. I'm wondering what other ways they will use it in the future.

How do you top the great DS3? I don't know, maybe with an F'n AWESOME DS4.
- Curved L2 & R2 Buttons feel perfect now. My fingers fell way better in them than the DS3.
- The speaker make games so much more immersive. Used in Resogun and Killzone are perfect. Breake away the volume from my 7.1 surround sound so well.
- Touch pad feels real sold in Strider. Easy map options. Also done well in Don't Starve. Its also real cool how its used for your Owl in Killzone.
- The light bar , huuuum. Its ok
Best controller of all time (so far).

I like them all. I feel Tomb Raider the best use of the light bar, and used the speaker really well. And the touch pad acts as a nice big button when you want to check the map or other such things. Loved firing a gun in Tomb Raider, the light bar would flash white, and the torch flicker was pretty cool. They are all really nice touches that add to the best controller of all time.

But what we really need to be talking about is that D pad. My good is that thing god like. I can't wait for street fighter. I use it in Rayman, I wont play it any other way. So accurate.

The touchpad obviously has the best potential for gameplay utility, though if you have the PS Eye then obviously the light bar could do lots of things,

Hopefully devs will find a use for touchpad. Personally I would have liked to see the touchpad be a touch screen, but that would kill the battery life.

I don't have PS4 yet so I can't say anything from personal experience yet.

The touch pad is being used for the exclusives. Killzone uses it to control the orders for the Owl and in infamous its a secondary strike button and finger print tool, I believe. I am going to test it out on the browser soon enough.

Dont have the system yet but the touchpad is my kind of thing. Time will tell.

Actually I don't like any of those.
The touchpad feels cheap(ACIV), the speaker is useless since I game with headphones and the lightbar I hate with a passion.
The DS4 as a whole is for me the single worst thing and biggest disappointment of the PS4.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

My favorite feature is the headphone jack. I game at night, when everyone is sleeping, so I always use them. For the same reason, I have no use for the speaker, but I se how it can be useful and fun.

I haven't really played any games that use touchpad for anything other than a large "select" button, and I hope it will be utilized better in later games. Wel, at least it doesn't get in the way, so I don't even notice it.

The worst feature is the light. It doesn't really bother me in a sense that it gets in the way, but in my opinion it's completely pointless, and only causes the controller's battery life to be significantly shorter. I really hope they will add a feature allowing us to turn it off. Until then, it's covered by a piece of black electric tape.

I don't have a problem many of my friends are having - their analog sticks got worn pretty badly, the rubber started chafing or tearing and coming off. And it's definitely not due to misuse, a lot of people were very careful after hearing of such problems from friends, and it still got damaged. I started using ORB analog covers (or as we call them - condoms :) from the beginning, to preserve my analogs, and I must admit they are very comfortable and easy to get used to.

the speaker is really annoying in dead nation. each time you switch weapons it tells you and it's really loud. touch pad is meh,but the light bar is pretty cool.

You can turn the volume down or even turn the thing off completely.
