Have you learnt nothing in the past few months? You can't just use Amazon to support predictions.

Gamestop's in there, as well.  And online shopping has become quite popular in recent years, as has preordering.  Besides, Amazon had PS4 beating Xbox One last year in the US and that happened.

I don't think the point of Titanfall is necessarily to have a huge week 1.

I think a multiplayer shooter like that, especially a new one ... the goal is for it to be an "evergreen" title that spreads to new users through positive word of mouth.

People forget, Call of Duty was something that built up gradually on the 360 before rocketing off to success.

Until MS buys franchise exclusivity, TitanFall having gradual returns is a negative.

Because when TitanFall2 comes out Ms is gonna have trouble convicing EA for even timed exclusive DLC, if TitanFall doesn't move enough units.

By the way, I was under the impression that TitanFall + Halo has been moving units since launch...

I think the positions on the charts prove that a lot of people who wanted Titanfall already purchased a One.  I mean it's only 2 days from launch and the Titanfall bundle has just reached #100, and never reached the Top 5 for hourly bestsellers, while previous bundles have reached higher than that.  It'll definitely give it a nice boost (I'm expected around January sales, at the most), but no large affect that will change how this gen is going, as some hoped.

And right now, that seems to me that MS isn't going to see much return on its investment, if any at all.  They paid EA a good chunk of change for Titanfall, so that heavily digs into the money they would make from SW sales.  They were hoping it would give them a huge boost in HW, which would in turn lead to more One SW and peripherals, to make up for the loss on SW sales.  It would also help them stay competitive with Sony.

"It's quite clear that I don't want Xbox One to ever EVER do well! Even after finding out it outsold PS4 in the US this week, there's no reason to think it will do well. EVER! EVER! NOT LISTENING!"

And what happens if it turns out VGC is overtracking the One, like they did for January, and the One didn't actually outsell the PS4 that week?

Either way...

This.

But I think this March it's possible that US is for One thanks to TF.

Worldwide of course PS4 won easily.

Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of opinion here. Many of Titanfalls fanbase already bought the console. It's not just about having a large spike of hardware at the start thanks to a limited bundle that includes the game, it more about a slow burn as it should really help Xbone consoles sell after launch. Especially thanks to word of mouth.

If any store in the US wants to sell a shit load of Xbones, just set one up with Internets access and put Titanfall in it.

True but it lost December. By looking at the Amazon best sellers for that month, it was looking like the PS4 would outsell the X1 2:1 but that didn't happen. The PS4 does well on Amazon because its supposedly still difficult to find one, whereas the X1 is readily available everywhere.

I'm not even so sure about the US.  I just don't see a huge boost from TF, plus it seems Sony is pushing a lot of PS4s in the US.  Amazon has had them for almost 5 days, now.  It has been #1 for every hr since becoming available, and still hasn't sold out.  And it looks like Walmart just got a shipment in today, too.  Gamestop also seems to be getting two more shipments this month.

We'll see I guess.

In the meantime February NPD will be available tomorrow from I what read. We will see if VGchartz has overtracked Xbox.

Sony was holding back at least 50K units a week all of January and early February for the Japan launch. It would only make sense for sales to rise back to the 200k territory, and with Infamous pushing things in the US/Europe, and Ground Zeroes being exclusive in Japan I don't see any reason for the PS4 to slow down.

Sony may focus units on the US and UK to make sure they keep the momentum through this period. Would be really easy for them to outsell MS in the US, and UK. All Sony has to do is ship more units to those to regions. Could easily sell 20 - 25k a week in the UK, and 80 - 100k a week in the US.

I personally don't see Titanfall moving a hole lot more units. I think people in the US, for the most part, will be happy with the 360 version. The first week should see a very small sales boost, and I expect a quick drop, and a much better launch on 360, and then word of mouth will push the 360 version. IMO Microsoft's only hope is the holiday season where they can brainwash the youth of American with ads and parents will by in droves. Otherwise, I think just like most of last gen, People buying during the year will make more educated decisions, and get the better system, at the better price.

I must admit one thing. If NPD show vgchartz is off again I don't know what I will think about the famous VGchartz's credibility.
