All major online retailers were sold out of PS4 until a couple days ago in the US. The PS4 also had no exclusive retail release that week and no special bundle. If retailers don't have the console for sale on their website it means their supplies are too strapped to spare any. In Amazon's case it means it has absolutely zero.

When people say the PS4 is sold out it means that retailers didn't have any to sell online, which is a big deal, and it wasn't easy to find one in stores. My friend had to take a three hour trip to get one about two weeks ago. We've been through this before just to watch the numbers jump up again when retailers sell the console online once more and yet we still have people who downplay "supply constraints". How many times do you guys want to be wrong?

Then on the X1 side we have this. Titanfall Bundle basically giving away their "trump card" for free and a new retail exclusive releasing. Both were available for most or all of that week and the numbers for the X1 in the US went up by about 6,000 or so? It only managed to be enough to surpass a largely unavailable console that week by around 5,000 in North America? I would think that a very available console that just got a new retail exclusive and a bundle giving away its prized title for free not even managing to move 50,000 that week would be cause for serious concern. Looking at the UK, the situation isn't any better.

I was expecting a much larger boost for the X1 than this with all things considered.

Yay.... anopther one who thinks you can buy consoles in the future...

You cant buy the titanfall bundle yet!   Jesus, its not difficult.

Your whole post is nonsense based on your incorrect assumption.

Oooooh I thought you bought the console now and got a voucher to download it digitally which allowed them to sell you the bundle now. My bad. Though that doesn't make my whole post nonsense because it's still true that the PS4 was not really available that week thanks in no small part to the Japanese launch, it did not have a new retail exclusive release, and the fact that the X1 still sold less than 50,000 yet again in North America should be concerning. So I'm not sure how being wrong on one part makes my whole post bogus but hey man it's cool. Congratulations for the X1 surpassing the PS4 in NA for the first time in quite awhile. I'm sure this is going to turn everything around for you and enrich your life until the next time we have to discuss a small victory.

We should be getting the February NPD numbers soon right? VGchartz is showing that the Xbox One did nearly 146k in February in the U.S. which is higher than the NPD January numbers...Are they overtracking again?

Historically Feb numbers are greater than Jan numbers. It's quite possible, maybe even likely, that the XBO Feb #s > XBO Jan #s.

The PS4 might break the trend due to supply issues though.

No they aren't...Between 2006 and 2013 total hardware sales for February  have never been higher than January. The Xbox 360 were higher in 2010 but only by 8k. Neither the PS3 or Wii ever had a better February than January.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

XBone clearly has the US won over PS4.

Is edging out your competitor due to their high-demand sellouts really winning?

50k for the US isnt concerning, not even remotely concerning.

I was merely correcting your obvious and basic error, no need to go on the attack.

I feel the need to attack people who act like dickheads. Consistently less than 50,000 in North America (not just the US) on a weekly basis, sometimes much less, while always being available should definitely be concerning since it's the only continent the console has any real footing in right now and is behind its biggest competitor that seems to keep selling out when everyone thinks it finally met demand.

Question: should we trust VGChartz SW numbers?

So, that´s may be the reason Jack Tretton was removed, if you think XOne situation in NA is bad what would you say the PS4 situation be, as it´s 20% cheaper and can sell just 10% more?

Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare has to be the reason for the X1 boost ;). Titanfall bundle preorders are gearing up for the week of March 15th sales.

It's also concerning that a $400 console is outselling a majorly hyped game which was supposed close the gap.
