But seriously, MS's main advantage is that it is the only parent company of the 3 that have dozens of billions to spare and is by far the most stable. Pulling in 5 billion NET every 3 months.....where does it go?

If MS wants to get serious with the Xbox division, and their acquisitions/hiring/buyouts tell me they are, then they should just go all in and buy up a major player in gaming. Literally force the naysayers to either buy your console to play their favorite IPs, or tuff luck. Gamer boycotters never stick to their word....for more then a few days lol.

I agree.  Now is the time.

Spending spree to leave the competition floundering would be amusing.

They won't spend billions on a division that makes little money for them. Perhaps if X1 sales were like the ps4 right now then they would have invested in a major studio to keep the momentum going but they won't spend billions aquiring something for division that shareholders don't even want

that rumor has to go, it makes people using it look silly and uninformed.... what shareholders ???? there have been two named for the issue with less than 2% of MS capital ownership combined, and very little weight compared to long term shareholders.... for the gazillion time there are more than 3 times as many that want to axe the hardware division at Sony of which one is the biggest Sony shareholder.... do we see people digging that rumor every 2 days ?????

MS Office 2015 in the cloud.  Surprise!  Did you think we would run games on there?   1.

Ok I kid, it's not Office.  It could be a MS phone running Android. 2.

Ok ok, would be cool to see Cortana which they talked about. 3.

1. Office 2013 does that now

2. They announced one a few weeks ago.

3.  Cortana all but confirmed via a leak last week.

So these all already happened.

Which MS phone runs Android? Nokia made one but MS doesn't own them yet.

Right.  Whatever you say.  its a done deal.  This phone wouldn't be being released without MS's say so.  They are running Nokia devices already.

MS probably bought Nokia because they were planning on switching to Android. Which is a good think in my opinion, the Nokia Lumia line is fantastic. Too bad I'm one of like 3 people in the world that owns one.

^in the US maybe in Europe they are set up to pass iPhone in the not so distant future... IDC even analyzed they'd be 2nd within 10 years world wide...

^that and to replace Asha handset... Like I said I'd be surprise if the X sells in developed country let alone if it will release there...
me I have had a l920 (writing on it right now) for a year and a half and will never look back at any of the current competing OSs especially with the update set up to arrive later this year... Looking closely at the rumored l1820

Highly unlikely.

They are using Android merely as a way of introduing very cheap phones that have the windows look, hoping that when these users upgrade they stick with nokia and obviously move to full windows.  This phone isnt an Android phone in the traditional sense.

How would these phones have the windows look? It's going to be a completely different OS.

Regarding Lumia.  You and I are one of near to 50m people that own one.  Windows phone is growing rapidly, despite the doomsayers of a year ago.  And now other manufacturers are ready to release more windows phones too.

Yeah I know, it was a joke.

Agree with you there, no way I'm ever going back to iOS or Android. The Windoes OS is fantastic for phones. I just wish they would get a better range of phones.

According to this link, the deal hasn't been finalized completely just yet and MS was not as excited about Nokia with Android.

The guy taking over the Devices division hasn't been too excited about Xbox in the past.

Also, would you be surprised if MS announced tomorrow that the Xbox division is being sold off? When that Amazon rumor was announced, most people weren't that surprised. If Xbox was so safe then there wouldn't be the possibilty of it being sold off.
