The behind the scenes footage is quite fascinating to watch. Which is kind of the problem with the movie, the making of is far more interesting than the movie itself, and you can't help but think they wasted all that tech on such a simple plot.

This guy sums it up nicely in his review, calling it yet another destruction derby:

Thanks, that was a good read. Exactly the way I feel about the movie.
It also struck me as odd in the behind the scenes footage how he kept praising the long takes. Apparently it's difficult to do in CGI, memory limitations? I don't know. The animators had trouble with it since they're only used to segments of a couple hundred frames at most. Plus Alfonso decided after the movie was finished to turn the opening sequence upside down and add a 180 degree roll after 6 minutes. Sounds simple, it took 3 months to re-render the opening. Still far less impressive than a life long take.

I also didn't get why they were comparing the simple camera movement inside the Soyuz when Clooney comes in and out with the awesome long take of the car scene in Children of men. That was an impressive long take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfBSncUspBk The camera is suspended from a track on top of the roof, with the car mounted on a trailer. The actors duck and fols their seats down to avoid the camera.

The movie was much better too.

Yeah...honestly, first thing after I've finished watching Gravity was "how it's possible that this was made by the same guy that made such a great movie, Children of Men".

Well, Hollywood and all that stuff, I guess...

People are really shitting on Gravities story XD I thought it was an amazing movie, and the story is a bit deeper and more symbolic than what the outside surface may tell. Whether or not that is your thing will make or break the film for you. And I didnt mind the "errors" and inaccuracies of space it made (could be because I could care less about that sort of thing) but I think inaccuracies had to be made in order to make the film and story more dramatic. The film isnt for everyone, but I'm definitely a big fan of it and Ive only seen a minority of people hate it (only on the internet)
