Wow, why are they still so expensive in the US?
I bought a new 360 Slim 250GB for 111 Euros a year ago in Germany. In the same store that sold Wind Waker Wii Us for 199 in the last two weeks.

i believe 360 has always been a price cut ahead in UK/europe for awhile now i know they had 2 price cuts there in 2008 which resulted in the 60gb pro being priced cheaper than the wii in 2008

Lots of people think the ps3 can sell for years because it's still so expensive but I'm not sure about that. I mean the PS4 is less than $200 more and the ps3 is showing signs of its death. So I don't think a price cut will significantly boost the ps3s sales.
A 360 price cut won't really help much either. I think the NA and UK markets are saturated with 360s now and there won't be much demand for them even with price cuts, like Wii.
360 was already $99 with a 2 year xbox live membership so probably close to it.

That turns out to be more expensive that buying the actual console in one go, so its not really $99. Its $99 + $15 a month.

still a great deal if you are a online gamer.
While much of the PS2 sales came late in the gen. I think we are in a bit of a different market now. People are more used to updating their cell phone every year or two, so it's more of a culture where people understand why they have to pay a little more for the latest thing.
I know both MS and Sony want to keep selling the PS3/X360 for another 20 million. I think they will need a low price cut to keep it going. They are both pretty old tech. I think a discount price is the best way to stay in the market.
