Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo should make a Wii U bundle with crazy value

No thanks, I dont see the value in paying for online services... Many people do and I respect that but I think its a cash grab cause just compare it to steam... Steam is a free online service and the steam sales out do any ps+ or gold sales out there

Mandatory online payment is the sole reason why I didn't get a 360 and why I m struggling to get a ps4 or x1

They should charge for online first, but make it super cheap. Like $20 a year. Perhaps that can attract some of the COD crowd to choosing the WiiU over ps4/ xb1, but I doubt it.

Did you read the OP?

Sort of. But making a PS plus type offering won't attract that many people to the console. Look at the ps3. Before the ps4, PS Plus was subscribed to by less than 5% of the PS3's userbase. Now its more than 50% of the ps4's install base. So I don't think the WiiU having that type of service will attract that many people.

Wow, incrindible, is like none of us never heard nothing like that. But yet one thing i don't realize: why would anyone spend $300 to play games that can be found on a $80 system(og wii) and actually play the games, then sell to get the money back, since the price of nitnendo games never go down after all?

Please, don't create topics to tell us thing that everybody areadly know(and areadly discussed ad infinitum).

i just bought ni no kuni at 6 bucks thx to ps+, last month tales of xilia, puppeteer the walking dead and SOTN with just 20 bucks. PS+ isnt just about free games, it comes with great deals (weekly) and YES i think it can be as good as steam is.

Nintendo's problem is shifting consoles and increasing the userbase. To do that they do need a price drop and increased value. This christmas here in the UK I think they need a £169/179 32GB wii u mario kart bundle. In that bundle you get credits lets say for 10 virtual console games of your choice. Also people buying the bundle get a christmas and new year gift code which if they use on the 25th Dec and Jan 1st entitles them to a free game on each day. This will be kept a surprise until the day but will be pretty good games. The advice will be to make sure all existing games will be seen by the console so the free games are not duplicates of games you already have.

This to me is how to shift wii u consoles. A great retail price and added value. The wii u console is a cheap ass console and there is no reason for it to sell at a price above hard drive equipped ps3's or 360s. It's Nintendo's denial of realiity regarding pricing that is doing them huge damage.

So, you didn't read it then, because nowhere do I mention any sort of subscription or online service.

The only downside, financially, is that they'd also start having to include Wiimotes in there to get the Wii games running out of the box. But those don't cost much either at this point.

I didn't know the Wii U didn't come with a Wiimote. There should be one in every current package to be honest. Local multiplayer is still a unique strength for them.

I think the Wii U won't have a official price cut in 2014.

They could put NSMBU, NSLU and SM3DW on a single disk or make a MK8 bundle with Wiimote and Wheel.
32GB white Premium would be nice in the West. Red and blue Wii Us would be nice, too.

Or they could do a model with the 2550 mAh battery included and more storage space.

They won't make bundles with many digital GC and Wii games... They don't want their old games to lose their value.

Wii U White, 64 gb storage, MK8, Wiimote and Wheel + 5 free eshop games
