I've being saying it all along the PS4's biggest competition is the PS3.
No competition really, the X1 by a mile. X1 should increase significantly as games come out in the next few weeks while ps3 will gradually taper off. Wii U, well I honestly don't think they are even in the running.

If PS3 drops in price enough, it can become a secondary console and won't compete with any of the 8th get consoles, similar to how the PS2 did in the 7th Gen

A strange gen though, to be sure. Remember how long the PS2 kept outselling? Same with Ps1.
8 long years surely can make the consumer pull the trigger a lot easier on a next console, that's for sure.
PS3 since it's much cheaper. It should be very close until October anyway then who knows. Depends on if a big game comes for Xbox One like Halo. I voted for PS3 anyway
