Really, if you don't understand anything about economy and furthermore do not know a single thing (facts!) what is happening on the side of a developer studio, you should better be quiet and stop spreading false information.

ok i spit my drink.  you work for sony?  i mean only sony corporate and those at santa monica know what happen. i made a post a few days ago citing the recent article about how long can sony survive and was mock lol.... i had to laugh at that.  laying off employees, selling off assets, closing sony stores.  sony fans better buy every exclusive if they like them or not to keep that boat floating.  everybody xbox fans and all cried and saying the craziest stuff like that MS corporation want to make money with the whole DRM stuff.  I wonder what gamers will do when all they have left to play are mobile games.

LOL Sony have literally profitted every single quarter aside from TVs...which they are trying to sell.

Literally billions of loss from tvs. Suddenly the whole company is in trouble of...i dunno what are you trying to say? If we dont buy exclusives sony will shut down??

u think people know how much money sony makes from its financials arm and its entertainment arm? That's around 3 billion in a year of profits. Their imaging division makes a good amount of money too around 200 million a year and I expect more now with them going into medical. Playstation is profiting at around 500 million - maybe even a billion if the ps4 keeps up the momentum. Mobile is breaking even or is even making a profit now they had the #3 mobile revenue last year behind samsung and apple. loss leading tv is being split off and loss maker vaio has been sold. Sony is actually in a better position now that it doesn't have to subsidize those loss making divisions. Also so-net wholly owned by sony recently is setting up gigabit internet in Japan and they make a good healthy profit as well.  

Xbox fans have been very disrespectful, hostile, and very uptight much more lately as iv'e seen. Hmm the ****hurt and desperation is strong with this ONE... nice an make ONE puns too! :p

Love the reactions here. People dont get hired immediatly after being let go unless they were looking for a job prior to being let go. There is a whole interview processes ya know. I actually doubt anyones been interviewed for any positions (probably havent even had a chance to send in a resume yet). Spence is just being proactive inrecruoting and thats it. This doesnt even confirm they would end up hiring any of those people.

as for the comments about sony trying to save money, lol. rral laugjable. If a crew isnt getting work done then sometimes you need to clear house. Especially since the ps4 is taking off. Now would be the dumbest time to downsize and try to cut costs in the playstation division. 50 people? probably a vita game. If not then probably nowhere near even in the thick of development

In 5 years sony will be sega. And microsoft will be sony+microsoft.

Sonys in a worl of crap financially and they still went for marketshare over profit on ps4. Itslike watching a sinking ship with barrels and gold thrown overboard, and its competition picking up the wothwhile stuff as they sail in behind.

Im really worried whats going to happen to ps is gonna happen sooner than i thought.

Anyway , nice news for xbox fans

Actually sony did just sell off some more buildings.

@OP sad to see people losing their jobs and sad to see the scifi project being canceled.  If i remember right they were just teasing that game not too long ago and rumor has it it was going to be shown at E3.  Wouldve liked to have seen it at least as im kind of tired of God of War, but maybe they will come back to it in a few years.

As for MSFT, theyve been on a bit of a hiring spree with Irrational Games and now SSM.  Would like to see them grow Black tusk so they can have two teams, one for their new ip and one for gears.  That way we dont have to wait for the first new gears to be released and they can just work on them simultaneously.

That might be the worst post you've ever made. You do realize that gaming division posted a profit last quarter right? It profited during a console launch quarter which didn't even happen with the PS2. Sony went for marketshare AND profit with the PS4. It looks like Microsoft didn't go for either. Then you say it's nice news for Xbox fans. Not all Xbox fans are like you Selnor. They don't want to see Sony go bankrupt just so you could win a console war. That's pathetic. You are the absolute worst poster when it comes to spread FUD constantly about Sony. 

But this is pointless. I may as well be speaking to a brick wall. You've made the most ridiculous predictions over the last few months and it so going to be so sweet to watch them all fail. Just like your hundreds of posts about how the XBO is going to be more powerful than the PS4, and your constant meltdowns when you're always proven wrong.

I guess tres thinks the gaming division makes up about 90% of the entire company and therefore it is also responsible for 90% of revenues?! That's basically what he's saying...

And no, I don't work for Sony or SMS. My remarks are based on hard facts and common sense, simple as that.

Sony owe more than 60 billion in debt. They posted another big loss.

I was saying good for xbox fans that we get more talented devs.
