Forums - Gaming - Will Metacritic be Titanfall's Rise or Fall ?

Unless is a niche tittle, Metacritic has probably no effect on game sales. It all comes down to marketing.

MS will make sure it'll be fine.

I think it will have a high 80's meta I'm think 86-88

I'm expecting a meta score of 85-87 or so for Titanfall. I think it'll be a blast to play at the end of the day. However, it doesn't change the fact that the price tag is high for what you're receiving. I believe that will be a detractor.

It's possible, but word from those that have played the beta is that it's pretty enjoyable (if you like FPS) and I don't see any major reason why it might get docked large numbers of points

Also as one the biggest games of the year, it is entirely possible that some money may change hands over this (I'm not singling MS out on this, they would by no means be the only ones to do that sort of thing)

I don't see the metacritic numbers having any effect on sales at all. Most of gamers interested have played the beta and made up their own minds. The momentum will depend on word of mouth and people getting their buddies to play. The only thing that could sour the pot now are launch problems. This thing better be smooth.

Titanfall's metacritic score will obviously be really low because it lacks a single player campaign. Obviously!

78 - 84 is my prediction.

High 70's. Reviewers will be critical because it lacks a single player campaign.

Neither, and it'll likely do 80's anyway.
