Forums - Gaming - Will Metacritic be Titanfall's Rise or Fall ?

We've all seen it before. A game comes along and has massive hype behind it. Everyone from gamers to bloggers to game critics. All saying great things on preview of th game. Early builds and small tidbits are all possitive. But that small piece that we always forget, were not playing the entire finished product.

Then the reviewers get their hands on the game and POW !!!! Metacritic scores strikes.

But Titanfall is a different kind of beast. It has the pressure of NEW console riding on its back. A price drop no later than 3 months after its release and M$ 1st big next gen game being bundled for free for a limited time. Thats allot of pressure.

Are reviewers now FORCED to review Titanfall favorable ?

Will we see review scores start coming in AFTER the game has been released ?

And by announcing this new Titanfall bundle, did M$ just hurt their XBOXOne sales from now till March 11th ?

Itll get some good reviews but i also believe its going to get some clickbait reviews as well. Will end up in the mid to high 80s i believe

87 out of 90 Reviews.

More importantly, what if the 360 version is subpar and, being the most diffused version, ends up giving Titanfall a bad reputation/word of mouth? Like failing to impress many people to make the jump to an Xbone? If Titanfall on 360 gets a low to mid 70s metascore, that could hurt overall sales.

I think all XBOXOne gamers are starving for something new to play, so I think Titanfall will sell well to early adopters, but I highly believe that review scores will not start coming in till after the game is released.

Hmm i would say 87 overall the least.. but  reviewers will not be FORCED to give good reviews...i mean look at Ryse son of rome.. it was suppose to be this big game from microsoft..but it flopped big time :-p

Praise the One.

Regardless of how good or bad it ends up beeing it wont have a metacritics score bellow the 80 or so, its the same with CoD and Batlefield all the time, FPS that is hyped gets good reviews. I also dont see it going over 90 cause again regardless of how good or bad it is not having single player mode will deduct some points.

Obviously fall its in the games title duh xD.

meta is the last place i check for game ratings. I like gametrailers reviews much more. usually the same issues or good things they state are about the same as mine.

meta will be soiled by the CoD haters.

Uhm...  Cod: Ghosts is a 78 on XBOne / PS4 and a 73 on XB360.  Battlefield 4 is a 79 on XB360.
