A 10% increase sounds plausible. It's within VGC's margin of error, so it will be hard to credit an increase like that to Bluray success, software releases or other sales boosting factors.

Exactly this is your opinion and thats fine. But if you think, that the BR sales won't increase markedly due to the death of HD-DVD, why don't you say so. Why do you invent a 2-3% number that has nothing to do with reality? Inventing numbers is a big sport around here I know but come on.

 

i dont understand--i  dont think it will be a big effect, in my opinion it will only equaly a few percent not 10 and there is a big differnce b/t 2% and 10% when you get in the 100k range 

 

and seeing as my original point was,

If they're taling throughout the whole year, we'll see a lot bigger boost (s) than a measly 10%... Probably 40-50% by the end of 08.

Not only does that refurbished player cost only $150 less than a new PS3, it is also significantly worse as a BD player. Only somebody that was completely clueless would consider that a better deal. Not to mention the fact that retailers tend not to recommend refurbished goods to their customers.

A 10% rise in sales is an extremely conservative estimate, especially if it is in relation to the US market.
